Master Black Belts are change agents for process and product quality improvements. They work as business partners with PACCAR Division Senior Managers to meet and exceed division goals.  They are responsible for identifying opportunities to deploy Continuous Improvement and Six Sigma tools and methods across our businesses and supply chains. They manage risk, set direction and lead the way to breakthrough improvements in product and process quality.
 

Requisition Summary

Dedicated Belts are change agents for innovation and process improvement. They actively foster creative thinking and a healthy environment of Continuous Improvement (CI).  They mentor employees in problem solving techniques. Dedicated Belts work as business partners with the department managers and senior staff to help achieve the needs of the business. 

 

Job Functions / Responsibilities

• Mentor project leaders in fact based decision making and leading small teams.

• Lead CI projects with cross-functional teams, to implement innovative improvements.

• Work with division leaders to align Lean and DMAIC projects with division business objectives.

• Manage the CI project portfolio for your area of responsibility.  Provide analysis and status.

• Assist with formal training, which may include the instruction of classes and class logistics.
• Potential travel up to 10% of the time.

• Ability to manage and resolve conflict

• Ability to provide group leadership and management of human resource issues

• In depth knowledge of PACCAR engineering, production and business processes
• In depth knowledge of Lean Six Sigma, including advanced statistical techniques and kaizen events
• Proficiency with Minitab and MS Office
 

Qualifications

• High energy level, self-starter with willingness to learn new ideas

• Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
• High potential individual, viewed as a leader
• Strong quantitative and problem solving skills

• Experience leading and successfully closing projects

Education & Experience

Experience / Education / Training Required


• 4-year Bachelor’s degree
• Trained as a Lean Belt, Green Belt, Black Belt, or DFSS Belt (at least one)

 


Experience / Education / Training Desired


• Excellent with people, building relationships and motivating them

• Understanding of various departments (Division, Plant, Engineering, etc.)

• Proficiency with Minitab statistical software

• PACCAR Certified Black Belt or PACCAR Certified Lean Belt

• Advanced degree or applicable training
