Job Functions / Responsibilities:


Design engineer for development of HVAC systems for heavy truck.  Apply engineering skill and knowledge of truck regulations, truck operation, and system performance requirements.  Tasks include development and improvements of truck HVAC system, promote new technology opportunities and contribute to Kenworth's product strategy, CAD drawings and layouts, support factories and customer service.


Qualifications & Skills: 


  • BSME or equivalent required; P.E. certificate desired;
  • HVAC experience required; 5+ years of industry related experience.  Technical background in the design and specification of automotive components.    Strong understanding of HVAC systems, system performance, component requirements and vehicle validation.
  • Strong proficiency using Pro/E other solids modeling software required. 
  • Experience in product development and product implementation with solid Program Management skills. Competency in the use of personal computer software including project management tools, word processing, spreadsheets, and databases. 
  • Proficient oral and written communications skills. Collaborates well in a team environment and able to provide design direction to other engineers.
