This position can be located in Plano, Texas or Louisville, KY. Plans, develops and supports traffic to maintain and improve the transportation department for the 3 Dynacraft locations.

Division Information

Dynacraft, a PACCAR Company, is headquartered in Algona, WA. Dynacraft is a diversified global manufacturer of PACCAR medium and heavy-duty truck parts sold under the Kenworth, Peterbilt, and DAF nameplates. For more than forty years, Dynacraft has provided the company’s truck manufacturing divisions and PACCAR Parts service parts division with high quality components, subassemblies and specialized services. Dynacraft’s manufacturing facilities are located in Algona, WA, Louisville, KY, and  Plano, TX.

Job Functions / Responsibilities

  • This position supports Plano, Texas; Algona, Washington, and Louisville, KY and some travel will be involved.
  • Direct responsibility for all inbound and outbound domestic and international freight (truckload, LTL, intermodal, vessel and airfreight), evaluating rates and routes, and drives implementation of logistics cost saving programs for Dynacraft.
  • Develops short and long term traffic objectives, including planning strategy for attainment and standards for measuring progress.
  • Accountable for maintaining/meeting appropriate metrics related to on-time performance, premium and inbound freight costs.
  • Responsible for filing and managing loss, damage, and shortage claims with carriers as needed.
  • Negotiates local carrier contracts and expedited shipments as needed.
  • Manages returnable packaging programs including new part implementation and resulting transportation flows.
  • Interacts with all plant departments to create and implement solutions to ensure inbound/outbound material arrives to meet requirements.
  • Establishes traffic policies and procedures, creating published guidelines and standard work instructions.
  • Monitors carrier performance ensuring conformity to established quality, delivery, and safety standards. Collaborate with suppliers, carriers and management to resolve disputes over expediting, overtime, or other charges.
  • Assists in developing logistics programs and other improvement actions using Lean/Six Sigma methodologies, conducting research on assigned projects.
  • Supervises Logistics/Traffic Planners, including performance evaluations.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Skills / Competencies

  • Effective communication and negotiation skills including conflict resolution.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and work well under pressure.
  • Position requires an accurate detailed approach, good organization, and the ability to communicate clearly.


  • Experience in domestic transportation including road carriers, air freight, and intermodal.
  • Strong project management experience
  • Effective communication and negotiation skills including conflict resolution.

  • PC skills - MS Word, Excel, and Access.
  • Experience with SAP ERP systems.
  • Position requires an accurate detailed approach, good organization, and the ability to communicate clearly.
  • Must be an independent worker who has the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Willing to work extended hours and Saturdays when required to support Traffic requests.


Degree in Business Administration, Transportation Management, or related field required.
