Requisition Summary

The Corporate Communications Specialist handles global internal communications for the Human Resources Department of PACCAR Inc and is part of the Corporate Human Resources team.  As a member of the Corporate Human Resources team, the Communications Specialist also liaises with communications, marketing, HR and business leads in supporting integrated communications campaigns across a variety of business functions and audiences.

Job Functions / Responsibilities

PACCAR World, an internal employee publication -

  • Plan, research and write PACCAR World on a quarterly schedule.
  • Coordinate divisional inputs and review and edit all material.
  • Oversee production process and quality control.
  • Obtain required approvals.
  • Act as printing and design liaison with the PACCAR World printer and designer.

Develop & Administer Annual Benefits Communication Plans -

  • Produce Benefits communications for open enrollment and wellness events and coordinate production process.
  • Manage web content, design and layout of the HR Service Center to communicate benefits and company resources to employees.
  • Act as primary contact for Corporate Benefits with PACCAR’s printing vendors.

Online Recruiting Marketing Plan -

  • Assist in the technical development, editing, maintenance of content creation and overall web production of PACCAR’s career website and social networking properties.
  • Demonstrate creativity, initiative, and web skills to support social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Indeed, YouTube) and associated applications.

Project Management -

  • Develops, edits, reviews and distributes announcements, articles, postings and other internal communications content for U.S. employees.
  • Provides support in the development of senior management presentations.
  • Active team member in the United Way planning committee.

Qualifications

  • One to three years of writing and communciations experience
  • Effective organizational and interpersonal skills including written and verbal communication skills
  • An understanding of design concepts and the printing process; experience with vendor contracts
  • Strong experience writing, proofreading and publishing communication media
  • Ability to maintain accuracy and apply organizational skills under tight timeframes and deadlines
  • Proven ability to prioritize, conduct research and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management; set and meet objectives with limited supervision and direction; project management experience a plus
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple projects with changing priorities
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Web-based design and layout experience; HTML and SharePoint knowledge a plus
  • Solutions-oriented self-starter with the desire to grow
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Internet research and presentation development

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree with emphasis on English, Journalism, Business or related field
