Job Functions / Responsibilities

The Data Analyst is responsible for aggregating data from multiple sources, interpreting data, analyzing results using statistical techniques and providing ongoing reports. Additional responsibilities include:

  • Use statistical methods to analyze data and generate useful business reports
  • Work with management team to create a prioritized list of needs for each business segment
  • Identify and recommend new ways to save money by streamlining business processes
  • Use data to create models that depict trends in the customer base and the consumer population as a whole
  • Work with departmental managers to outline the specific data needs for each business method analysis project
  • Writing relational and multidimensional database queries
  • Configuring, deploying and maintaining database servers
  • Analyzes and designs ETL solutions based on the data mapping and provides data specifications for integrating new and/or updating data within the data warehouse
  • Designs and/or develops database objects (databases, tables, stored procedures, views etc.) to support ETL and data integrations
  • Attains knowledge of data warehouse architecture and practices Agile development methods and techniques
  • Analyzes Business Intelligence (BI) requirements and designs/develops reporting solutions to support standard reporting, dashboard and self-service environment
  • Serves as the subject matter expert on data warehouse architecture, data warehouse, and data mart models
  • Provides to Peterbilt Business areas on-going support for operational, corporate and data warehouse staff in relation to existing reports with respect to their definitions and differences

Skills / Competencies

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics, Computer Science or Computer Engineering
  • 2+ years’ Data mining experience
  • 4+ years in a data analyst role
  • 2+ years of experience on Databases including: SQL, SSIS, SSRS, SSMS, Data Engineering practices.
  • Knowledge of ETL and data warehouse concepts and processes
  • Experience with Tableau, Lumira, Power BI or an equivalent reporting tool to create impactful reports, visualizations, and interactive dashboards
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to work well with others demonstrated strong communication skills and self-motivation.
  • Familiarity with Agile software development practices.
  • Strong attention to detail


  • Experience developing using MS Sharepoint
  • Experience with ERPs,  Manufacturing Execution Systems, Order Processing, Finance or Sales Systems is a plus.
  • Masters Degree
  • Six Sigma with DFSS experience
