Job Functions / Responsibilities

The Engine Integration team is looking for a collaborative and driven engineer to join our team, focused on product development. Our projects range from 1-4+ years, typically centered on new model introductions and major emissions updates. Our team provides designs to complete the engine installation into Kenworth and Peterbilt Class 3-8 product with direct impact on performance, packaging, service and reliability. PACCAR engineers have a high level of responsibility to develop concepts, influence direction with thorough analysis and communicate with various departments to build consensus.

  • Through our product creation process, you will have a significant voice in the direction of our product and participate in a full product lifecycle.
  • You will get the opportunity to explore, innovate, have freedom to generate ideas and follow-through with a final product.
  • To launch a successful product, you will gather input from product planning teams and customers to interpret product needs, quantify attributes, sell your concept to Sr. Engineering and Management staff, collaborate with suppliers and purchasing to identify sources, assess risks, develop test plans, manage development timelines, support pilot builds and  execute bill of material (BOM) documentation.
  • In this role, you will need to collaborate with other team members, departments and major divisions of PACCAR to successfully develop and implement new designs that help maintain PACCAR's reputation for industry leading products and services.

 

Qualifications & Skills

  • Required - BSME and 4+ years of industry-related background in the design and specification of automotive components
  • Preferred - Master's degree and Professional Engineering License.
  • Required - Prior experience in product development and new product implementation.
  • Required - Ability to perform and/or lead development efforts, coach others on design techniques.
  • Required - Advanced proficiency using Pro Engineer or other solids modeling software.
  • Required - Willingness to grow personally and professionally, ready to learn and make use of new engineering processes and techniques. Be resourceful in solving complex technical problems.
  • Required - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Required - Demonstrated ability to work with a team to achieve timely objectives.
  • Preferred - Experience with Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) methodology.
  • Required - Competency in the use of personal computer software including word processing, spreadsheets, database operations and project management tools.
