Division Information

PACCAR Parts

PACCAR Parts operates a network of parts distribution centers offering aftermarket support to Kenworth, Peterbilt and DAF dealers and customers around the world. Aftermarket support includes customer call centers operating 24 hours a day throughout the year and technologically advanced systems to enhance inventory control and expedite order processing.

Requisition Summary

Manages Demand Planning team to minimize forecast error and optimize and attain fill and turn objectives. Responsible for training, parameter tuning, and optimization for all aspects of our forecasting and supply planning systems.  Work with Marketing, Sales, MDI, and Inventory Planning group to ensure continuous improvement of planning processes. Works closely with IT to resolve planning systems issues; identifies, scopes, tests and leads systems implementations and modifications.

Job Functions / Responsibilities

  • Manages, trains and mentors Demand Planning Analysts and Demand Planning Coordinator.
  • Works closely with Inventory Planning Managers by providing key inputs to supply parameters, replenishment parameters, and safety stock levels.
  • Manages use of forecasting algorithms and other demand planning parameters to achieve departmental goals. Monitor and suggest system maintenance and parameter settings as needed.
  • Prepares and conducts ongoing training for Manugistics (JDA) users.
  • Prepares and conducts forecast meetings for Leadership Team.
  • Identify planning systems issues.  Define systems requirement specifications for modifications with the systems analysts.  Test systems modifications. Document system processes from the user perspective to facilitate process training.
  • Works with key personnel in Marketing, Sales, and MDI to ensure forecast accuracy.
  • Serve as a project lead for Six Sigma project initiatives.
  • Various special assignments as requested.
  • Document processes and procedures.  Works towards continuous improvements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in statistics, business or related field required.
  • Advanced PC skills in Excel, Access and Manugistics (JDA) or a highly advanced DRP and Forecasting system.
  • Inventory control or product distribution experience. 
  • Knowledge of truck parts and components.
  • A team player with excellent communication skills.
  • Six Sigma certification and previous supervisory experience is a plus. MBA preferred.
