Requisition Summary


Manages quality assurance operations, programs and personnel to provide maximum product quality and customer satisfaction.  Supports plant operations to ensure plant- wide compliance with all Business Management Systems required byISO9001 and IATF 16949:2016.  Implements and maintains PACCAR Engine Company quality at all levels within the corporation.  Act as liaison with Kenworth, Peterbilt, and DAF quality to ensure supplier quality programs are consistent with PACCAR Engine Company requirements.


Job Functions / Responsibilities


  • Provides leadership to manufacturing and support operations to ensure systems, methods and controls are in place and continuously improved to produce quality products.
  • Establishes standards, policies, and procedures for quality assurance programs, including ISO/TS certification requirements and warranty program.
  • Develops and maintains controls to ensure adherence to quality assurance procedures and policies; audits quality assurance department on a systematic basis and coordinates with other departments.
  • Acts as a primary contact with suppliers, customers and engineering.
  • Develops and administers quality assurance and inspection training programs for incoming material, fabrication and assembly operations, providing assistance to staff, vendors and customers as necessary.
  • Prepares or directs preparation of periodic quality assurance status reports for division/corporate management.
  • Ensures proper staffing, training, development, and motivation of personnel.
  • Develops and monitors quality assurance budgets.
  • Directs plant warranty reduction efforts.
  • In conjunction with Corporate Quality, designs and implements supplier quality programs that result in appropriate interaction between the PACCAR Engine Company and suppliers.
  • Coordinates and champions Six Sigma program working closely with assigned Master Black Belt to integrate Six Sigma into manufacturing operations.
  • Facilitates activities and programs with the PPS Coordinator that support the continuous improvement efforts.


Qualifications & Skills


  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or related field is required.
  • Strong knowledge of quality assurance, inspection techniques, thorough knowledge of quality assurance practices gained through five (5) to seven (7) years of directly-related experience required.
  • Five (5) or more years of direct managerial experience desired.
  • In-depth understanding of ISO/TS certification requirements desired.
  • Working knowledge of engine manufacturing preferred.
  • Six Sigma Black Belt, is preferred.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and inter-personal communication skills. Ability to present to diverse stakeholders.
  • Masters degree is preferred
