Requisition Summary

This position is for an Electrical Engineering Section Manager with experience managing the design of vehicle systems, development, and production support. Duties involve engineering assistance, problem resolution, training, and other engineering duties supporting various aspects of heavy truck development and production.

Job Functions / Responsibilities

  • Lead activities to propose, plan, and implement improvements in product, processes and equipment to meet organizational objectives.
  • Coordinate engineering support activities with other PACCAR companies, departments, and suppliers
  • Monitor product warranty and lead corrective actions
  • Manage team activities to implement projects on schedule and within budget.
  • Apply product knowledge to support quality improvements and cost reduction efforts
  • Develop and manage department budgets.
  • Establish and maintain proper staffing levels.
  • Lead, mentor and promote employee training and development
  • Prepare and deliver formal reports and presentations
  • Other duties and activities as assigned
  • Must be flexible in role
  • Travel < 25%


  • Supervisory or managerial experience is required
  • Professional Engineering License preferred
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering is required
  • Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Business is preferred
  • Design for Six Sigma Training and Experience is required
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt is desired
  • Peterbilt PCP Tollgate product development experience preferred
  • 7+ years of experience in an industry related role is preferred
  • Outstanding organizational, planning and tracking skills required
  • Creative approach to identifying solutions and problem solving is required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required


  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering is required.
  • Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Business is preferred.
