Requisition Summary

The Sr. Integration Engineer is responsible for project-based integration implementations as well as monitoring, maintenance and support of existing production integration solutions for PACCAR.  This position will also serve in a leadership position, planning and architecting various aspects of the integration platform as well as coordinating and collaborating with the Mainframe System Programmers, SAP Application Administrators, Integration Platform Administrators, Server Administrators, Application Developers and Database Administrators.


Job Functions / Responsibilities

  • Act as a subject matter expert for PACCAR's integration platforms and related technologies
  • Research integration technology solutions and recommend initiatives in support of PACCAR's integration infrastructure investment roadmap
  • Lead the design and implementation of the enterprise integration platform, working with division counterparts to ensure a global solution
  • Lead the design and implementation of project-based integration solutions in accordance with 
  • PACCAR standards, the approved integration roadmap and industry best practices
  • Provide timely resolution for integration-related production issues, including root cause analysis
  • Mentor other integration developers and application developers
  • Implement and maintain security in accordance with company security policies
  • Create and maintain procedures and standards
  • Develop and maintain an integration component inventory
  • Research, develop and oversee integration governance best practices
  • Follow the change management procedures and policies
  • Provide 24x7 operational support in an on-call rotation and issue resolution

Qualifications & Skills

  • 5+ years of multidisciplinary architecture experience with a medium to large organization, preferably in a systems architect or similar engineering role
  • 2+ years of Technical Lead experience desired
  • Demonstrated experience designing and developing enterprise integration solutions
  • Working knowledge of software development methodologies and end-to-end software development lifecycle
  • Understanding of Object-Oriented Analysis (OOA) and Object-Oriented Design (OOD) principles
  • Working knowledge of Enterprise Application Integration (EAI) methodologies and platforms including Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) and Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) 
  • Demonstrated experience developing integrations and managing Application Servers using the following technologies: IIS, iWay Full Function Server (FFS), iWay Service Manager (iSM) and Microsoft BizTalk 
  • Demonstrated experience creating web services and web apps using some of the following technologies: XML, XSLT, XSD, .NET, WCF, ASP.NET, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Ajax
  • Demonstrated experience with some of the following development languages: .NET, C++, VB.NET, Visual Basic (vb6)
  • Experience with a variety of communication protocols such as TCP, HTTP, SOAP, FTP and MSMQ
  • Experience with relational database design and consumption including SQL Server, DB2, IMS, Oracle, Informix and EDA
  • Experience with a variety of operating systems and concepts including: Windows Server, IIS, Firewall, IPSecurity, Certificates, Security and Active Directory
  • Knowledge of various integration concepts including: Business-to-Business (B2B), platform-to-platform and EDI Trading Partner Integration development
  • Experience supporting multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task, prioritize and execute on assigned deliverables
  • Relentless attention to detail
  • Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision and guidance
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively both written and verbal
  • Ability to communicate effectively to all layers of business and management
  • Knowledge of the truck or automotive business desired


Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics, Computer Science or related field is required


Work Setting
This is an office position in an open cubical setting.  It requires long periods of sitting and good manual dexterity for computer data entry.
