Requisition Summary

Do you want to help shape the future of Peterbilt?  The Vehicle Verification team has an opportunity for you to use your communication skills and vehicle knowledge to coordinate the development of requirements and bill of material logic for current and future Peterbilt programs. Program targets will be incorporated in the Product Description Book (PDB) which defines what Engineering will deliver for the project.  Bill of Material Logic will ensure that all options and variations are addressed prior to launch.  Finally administering packaging reviews and performing paper pilot reviews will ensure designs and systems are ready for a seamless launch into PACCAR production facilities.

Job Functions / Responsibilities

  • Participate in major engineering projects
  • Coordinate with Product Planning, Manufacturing & PACCAR Parts to understand major program book of wishes
  • Serve as the liaison between stakeholders to define the Vehicle Properties derived from the book of wishes
  • Work closely with all identified Vehicle Property Owners to set project vehicle performance targets (Vehicle Properties)
  • Provide timely definition of design requirements by completing major program Product Description Books (PDB)
  • Support the development of project scope and scope management of major projects
  • Maintain awareness of overall program scope details
  • Work with Marketing to create option codes required by the program
  • Lead bill of material and selection logic creation working directly with associated design groups
  • Document work in the PCMS system where required
  • Champion process improvements for major program bill of material creation and product structure development
  • Learn and review the design and assembly processes for the projects to ensure successful assembly, installation, and manufacture of the program systems, subsystems and components
  • Support and provide feedback during Technical, Concept, Design and Packaging Reviews
  • Host Packaging Reviews for projects and document issues found in Virtual FRACAS
  • Coordinate and guide engineers to complete high quality packaging reviews
  • Develop Paper Pilots to help resolve issues and determine implementation risks


  • Strong organizational and documentation skills with the ability to prioritize work effectively
  • Ability to learn on the fly and adapt to change
  • 3+ years of vehicle experience required, 5+ years preferred
  • Strong Working knowledge of Word, Excel, PCMS, OPS, and COPICS required
  • Interdivisional program coordination including interfacing with DAF, Kenworth, and PTC
  • Knowledge in the use of Six Sigma tools Boundary Diagram and Parameter Diagram
  • Strong overall knowledge of PACCAR vehicles


Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering preferred
