Requisition Summary

Using customer data, test track data, test cell data, and new advanced powertrain test cell data, engineer will establish calibrations for the On-Board Diagnostics (OBD) for PACCAR engines to provide effective field repairs at dealerships and the aftermarket while meeting regulatory requirements. Positions exist at senior-, mid-,and entry-level.

Job Functions / Responsibilities

Engineer will need to perform pre-calibration work on an engine dyno and apply it to the vehicle level
Performs diagnostic routines, reports findings and gives recommendations in order to improve system reliability and durability
Defines, purchases, and maintains all hardware and software tools required to interface with the engine management systems

Qualifications & Skills

BS in appropriate technical field required (electrical and mechanical engineering a plus), MS preferred; and 2 years of work experience required
OBD experience through calibration is desirable
Knowledge of regulatory requirements in association with OBD is a plus
In-depth knowledge of Powertrain management systems with knowledge of performance, experience with in-vehicle engine and engine-vehicle calibration and data acquisition systems.
Knowledge of J1939 data bus functions and J1939 protocol
Understanding of control systems and system requirements
Ability to work well independently and in a team environment
Must be self-directed and possess excellent analysis, communication and presentation skills
Must be organized and take a rigorous approach to engineering projects
Must be able to manage personal workload and have the willingness, flexibility, and initiative to respond to shifting time and project demands
