Job Functions / Responsibilities

- Participate in development and analysis of heavy-duty truck performance criteria and vehicle functions within the Vehicle Integration Group
- Support Vehicle Property Owners through development of simulation environment and complete multiple simulation runs within that environment
- Translate the voice of the customer through interaction with Product Planning and Vehicle Property Owners and support authoring of core Vehicle Integration engineering deliverables (Sign Off Standards, General Vehicle Functions, Product Description Books)
- Develop General Vehicle Function specifications through use of Simulink and MATLAB, including documentation of analytical test verification of vehicle function concepts
- Support development of Technical and/or Software Requirements Specifications via clear definition of vehicle level requirements
- Provide feedback and/or guidance on Rapid Control Prototype test model performance
- Review Vehicle Function verification and validation results, giving feedback on calibration and guidance on pass/fail criteria
- Support implementation of Vehicle Functions through review of Prospector and ELCOMP parameter strategies

Qualifications & Skills

- BSME required; Post-graduate degree in engineering and/or FE/PE certificate preferred
- 1-3+ years of experience (including internships) in the simulation and analysis of vehicle performance data, as well as design of complex automotive components required
- Proficient in use of MATLAB, and ability to rapidly develop Simulink modeling skillset required
- Six Sigma experience preferred
- Ability to summarize complex, large data sets for consumption by non-experts to support Kenworth Vehicle Integration group's strategic goals required
- Competence in the use of personal computer software such as word processing, database, and spreadsheets
- Familiarity with project management methods and tools
- Candidate should be willing to make use of engineering processes and techniques and be resourceful in solving complex technical problems
- Independent judgment and effective project management required
- Ability to manage costs, time and resources
- Strong communication skills and collaborative nature
