The Protection & Signal Division at ON Semiconductor in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a highly motivated student to join their team for an internship. As an Applications Engineering Intern, you will have an opportunity to work together with Product Managers as well as both Application and Design Engineers. You will be directly involved with the applications level of support needed including bench level testing, demo creation, schematic review/debug/troubleshoot, to bring new protection and small signal semiconductor products to market.

Performance Objectives:

This opportunity will ask a student to have the following performance objectives:

* Interact with marketing-team and research relays and circuit breakers
* Obtain samples of competitor parts and drive their teardown/analysis in the TACL lab
* Support or drive the creation of a board-level (PCB-level) demo for related products
* Develop schemes for the HV AC testing of motors
* Study/interpret UL standards
* Assist in designing PCB's for a variety of purposes (test/evaluation/demonstration)
* Perform circuit simulations for analog systems using Cadence/Spice, ADS, etc…
* Collaborate with Application Engineers on product level demos and/or bench test automation
* Support Product Marketing with customer's technical inquires

In order to be considered for an internship, you must be a student currently enrolled in school pursuing an accredited Electrical Engineering degree program.

* Junior or Senior level student in BSEE degree program or student enrolled in Master's program
* Knowledge of basic active and passive analog circuit components and how to form and analyze useful circuits
* Experience with lab equipment required: Oscilloscopes, DMMs, Curve Tracers, etc.
* Must demonstrate good verbal and written communication skills with ability to multi-task
* Knowledge in basic circuit simulation and board layout techniques is preferred
