Job Description

The position works in the Digital and Print Media Program, the
purpose of which is to provide strategic solutions that leverage
technology to create, deliver, and optimize content to forward the
strategic priorities, core principles, and mission of the Office of
Hawaiian Affairs.

The Digital and Print Media Specialist III provides support in the
production of all products and events developed or distributed by
the Digital and Print Media Program including but not limited to:
Internet-based multimedia & applications, mobile-based multimedia &
applications, video and audio production. Whereas multimedia is
defined as media and content that uses a combination of different
content forms including but not limited to: text, audio, still
images, illustration, animation, video or interactive content.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES
1.Internet-based Multimedia & Applications
a.Drafts, designs, and develops OHAs internet media, as
directed. Revises and finalizes product, as directed. Coordinates
the compilation of information, layout (in regards to user
interface and user experience) and functionality necessary for
internet access and viewing. Ensures that the content is free of
grammatical, typographical and/or compositional errors and that any
pre-produced or pre-recorded images, audio, and video files are
relevant, has cleared permissions (if applicable) and appropriate
prior to posting to the internet.
b.Upon request, assists the Digital and Print Media Manager with
procurement, direction and monitoring of contract vendors in the
area of website/application development and maintenance.
c.Upon request, manages projects and vendors associated in
creating Internet-based multimedia & applications for OHA.
d.Upon request, leads cross-functional teams consisting of
inter-departmental staff and contracted vendors on projects that
the Digital and Print Media Specialist is in charge of.
e.Upon request, assists in the creation of budgets related to
projects that the Digital and Print Media Specialist is in charge
of.
f.Assists other staff in the usage of OHA's internet media
(Content Management System training for SMEs/Content providers as
well as general help for OHAs online user base).
g.Administers user accounts, manages access levels, and
troubleshoots issues related to the Content Management Systems that
run OHAs internet media.
h.Develops and maintains positive work relationships with media
vendors and associated professional media related
organizations.
2.Mobile-based Multimedia & Applications
a.Drafts, designs, and develops OHAs mobile media, as directed.

and user experience) and functionality necessary for mobile access
and viewing. Ensures that the content is free of grammatical,

creating Mobile-based multimedia & applications for OHA.
d.Upon request, assists in the creation of budgets related to
projects that the Digital and Print Media Specialist is in charge
of.
e.Assists other staff in the usage of mobile applications that
are developed by the Digital and Print Media Program.
3.Video & Audio Production
a.Operates video cameras and other essential video/broadcast
equipment (edit stations, tape bays, digital drives, etc.).
b.Assists in the conceptualization, scripting and storyboarding
of audiovisual/broadcast products and advertising.
c.Upon request, manages projects and vendors associated in
creating video & audio products for OHA.
d.Upon request, assists in the creation of budgets related to
projects that the Digital and Print Media Specialist is in charge
of.
e.Assists other staff in the operation of video cameras and
other essential audiovisual/broadcast equipment and software.
f.Operates audio equipment and other essential audio gear.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
1.Graduation from an accredited college or university with a
degree in communications, web/application design and/or development
or related field.
2.In lieu of a degree, four (4) years of progressively
responsible full-time experience in the web/application design &
development industry, communications, or related field.
3.Master's degree in web/application design & development, or
related field can be
substituted for two years' experience.
