Job Description

Instructional Design – Facilitation - Development

Job Responsibilities

We are seeking a Training Manager to join our growing biopharmaceutical company. Reporting into the Sr. Field Training Manager, you will be responsible for planning, developing, implementing, maintaining and evaluating training programs and training staff.  Geographically, you will focus on supporting our West Coast and/or Midwest Donor Centers. You will implement the overall training strategy of Octapharma Plasma, and partner with regional directors and field quality managers to support donor center production and quality goals.

Additional responsibilities of the Training Manager role include:

  • Develops content, job aids, assessments and other training tools, in accordance to accepted instructional design and adult learning concepts.
  • Coaches and mentors training coordinators and provides feedback on training coordinator performance.
  • Collaborates, establishes training priorities, and ensures alignment with Regional Director, Field Quality Manager and Donor Center Director.
  • Regularly meets with Regional Director and Field Quality Manager to evaluate and insure ongoing effectiveness of training.
  • Communicates ideas and Best Practices to Regional Director, Field Quality Manager, and Donor Center Leadership.
  • Establishes and implements management tools, processes and reporting to ensure training effectiveness and compliance. Evaluates effectiveness of training and implements corrective actions, as needed.
  • Collaborates with functional teams to develop and implement training materials.
  • Ensures that compliance of training records and materials are maintained, in accordance with requirements regulations and company SOPs.
  • Establishes and conducts training audits of the donor centers and supports regulatory audit processes.


Instructional Design – Facilitation - Development


Qualified candidates of this role must offer excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills. You will also posses strong organizational, planning and project management skills.

Other requirements of the Training Manager role include:

  • Bachelor’s degree highly preferred. In lieu of a bachelor’s degree, 5-7 years of relevant, required experience will be considered.
  • 2+ years' experience in instructional design, needs assessment and post training evaluations.
  • Intermediate or above experience in PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Experience in e-learning software, preferred (e.g. Articulate).
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems, preferred.
  • Must possess excellent facilitation skills.
  • Experience in a regulated environment, preferred.
  • Required travel will be up to 75% and will include overnight travel. Travel focused heavily in the West Coast and/or Midwest regions.
  • Applicants located on the west coast, highly preferred.
  • Previous experience interacting with middle management, senior executive level and across department functional lines.
