NYCEDC is seeking passionate Summer Interns to join our dynamic team of skilled and dedicated New Yorkers committed to making New York City a more prosperous place to live and work.

The PDT Department: The PDT Project Support Team consists of a team of administrators who strive to advance the needs of fast-paced complex urban planning & development projects City-wide. We are vital members of multiple project teams in PDT facilitating procurement, operational, & budget functions - including comprehensive invoicing, compliance and day to day management of competitively procured on-call consultant contracts - and providing administrative support to senior & executive-staff.

The Summer Internship Program: As a NYCEDC Summer Intern, you will attend networking activities with other interns, training and development courses, organized tours of NYCEDC assets, and so much more!

Your Internship: The internship with the PDT Department will involve assisting the Project Support staff with various contract management needs ranging from the processing of consultant invoices to providing administrative/analytical support with competitive procurements of consultant contracts. There will also be opportunities to liaise with Project Managers within the Division, doing hands on learning with City-wide projects while also being involved in the backend work of authorizing assignments to the consultant teams.

Responsibilities: List the day-to-day responsibilities of the intern.

* Processing invoice and compliance checks on consultant contracts
* Assist with key Request For Proposal and Request For Qualification procurements
* Work closely with Project Support staff to create a combined Resource Guide for the improvement of external/internal department communication and collaboration.

Minimum Qualifications:


* Eligible students include any college student currently enrolled in either undergraduate or graduate program with preference given to rising juniors and seniors
* Impressive academic and extracurricular qualifications, consistently strong performance, excellent grammatical and writing skills, and a passion for innovation and success
* An ability to work and communicate well in a fast paced environment while interacting with a wide variety of people
* Teamwork and problem-solving skills, a willingness to accept responsibility, ask tough questions, and have a solutions oriented approach
* Administrative and detail oriented skills, can take initiative and adapt well within a team.
* Highly familiar with Excel, Outlook and Word, can navigate other types of software (including project management platforms) easily.
* Passion for public service and New York City
