About this role... .

As Manager of Content Systems and Software within Assessment Solutions, you will manage Agile scrum teams that develop and deliver tools and features to support the creation and delivery of NWEA assessment products. You will manage the implementation of approved features and functionality while triaging real-time issues and needs. This is a key role where you will hold responsibility for the successful delivery of the approved scope of features assigned to your team. Collaboration is essential as you will work cross-functionally to develop NWEA's Content Supply Chain in a way that supports all current and future products. In addition, you will coordinate with other NWEA software teams and represent the Publishing department on various cross-functional teams. 

Your next challenge... .

As a vital member of Publishing's Assessment Solutions team, you will report to the Director, Assessment Solutions and hold a wide range of responsibilities including:

* Provide leadership to assigned CSC Agile scrum teams by working with the Sr Manager Content Systems and Software to clarify sprint objectives
* As Product Owner for one or more development teams, manage the prioritization, sequencing, and approval of their development work based on input from product management
* Facilitate communication and understanding among Publishing teams on deliverables on cross team projects; provide facilitation amongst Publishing and other business units across organization
* Develop solutions to system, item, and test building challenges and close gaps using institutional knowledge, team resources, and NWEA knowledge bases
* Create overall vision for the use of in-house content systems and their application to new products
* Develop item and test management processes for new products in consultation with other Publishing teams

* Ability to successfully lead Agile scrum teams
* Experience with the Scaled Agile Framework (highly desired)
* Leadership skills with proven ability to successfully manage and facilitate functional and/or cross-functional teams; ability to build strong working relationships and work with all levels of an organization
* Proficiency in a broad range of agile project management and roadmap tools such as Jira, Target Process and Aha
* Well-developed communication skills, including the ability to transform complexities into clear, concise written communications
* Demonstrated ability to remain cool under pressure and demonstrate competence when challenged. 
* Demonstrated ability to facilitate and influence meetings and discussions where disparate points of views need to be voiced and acknowledged

Education and experience... .

* Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or similar discipline required; MBA or other advanced degree or equivalent work experience strongly preferred
* Minimum two (2)  years of practical delivery experience in Agile project management preferred
* Strong preference for experience in the technology and educational industries
* Project management process experience including project portfolio prioritization, estimating, project planning, scheduling, risk and issue tracking

About the Assessment Solutions team... .
 
NWEA's Assessment Solutions team is one of several groups within our Publishing department. They manage the development of processes and tools to support work not already sustained through production activities on the Item and Test Teams. The Assessment Solutions team supports multiple scrum teams for Content Supply chain (CSC) in the role of Product Owner in addition to managing data for those elements that are not yet incorporated into CSC tools available to Publishing. This team is responsible for the development of item and test prototypes with resulting documentation, collaborating with our Product Management group, among others, in the development of new products and offerings.
