Job Description

Under supervision, conducts product testing and assists in the development of new products for a wide variety of nutritional supplements and duties following established procedures in the following areas:

Essential Functions

* Assists formulation staff with the preparation of formulas and materials for the development of tablets, capsules, and powders.
* Performs testing on powder samples and records data relative to powder density, flow, and compressibility.
* May assist with sample preparation under the supervision of a personal care formulator.
* Assists with the preparation of documentation.
* Interprets production records and extracts and records data therefrom.
* Assists in troubleshooting and resolving formula-based production issues.

Additional Responsibilities

* Works as part of a Product Development team.
* Support of and involvement in company, department, and/or safety policies, procedures, programs and activities.
* Maintains a clean and orderly work area.
* Other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications

* Progress toward a Bachelor's degree (B. S.) in a scientific or technical field from four-year college or university.
* Must have knowledge of a variety of computer software applications including Microsoft Word and Excel.
* Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
* Ability to work with mathematical concepts such fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions and to apply them to practical situations.
* Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Physical Requirements

* While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear; and taste or smell.
* The employee may exert up to 30 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 15 lbs. of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
* Specific vision abilities required by this job include near acuity, far acuity, depth perception, accommodation, color vision, and field of vision.
