Job Description

Overview:

This position is responsible for performing assignments related to the administration, analysis and development of compensation process and programs; reporting to the Manager of Compensation.

Responsibilities:

  • Administer the NRG Rewards and Recognition program, including maintaining vendor relationship, troubleshooting employee questions, and promoting the program.
  • Conduct data audits and ensure accurate maintenance and updates to HRIS and compensation related tables and systems as it relates to jobs, positions, grades, geographic differentials, bonus plans and targets and other data elements as needed.- Understand geographic differentials in order to provide appropriate solutions to hiring and transfer issues.
  • Coordinate payments with payroll for broad-based incentive payments which may include commission payments, project bonuses, special payments or imputed income items, year-end base salary adjustments and bonus payments. Interface with IT or Data Management in order to process loads to payroll if necessary.
  • Assist in the administration of base pay programs, including structure development, annual salary planning process and job description and grading system. Support HRBP’s with market pricing of positions, job analysis and review
  • Support the calculation of incentives for multiple incentive plans, including sales incentive programs.
  • Assist in the development and presentation of communication and training materials, including user guides.
  • Participate in annual market surveys and validate returned data to determine compensation trends.
  • Extract relevant data from both internal and external information systems to support compensation analysis.  Evaluate and analyze jobs to establish externally competitive and internally equitable compensation rates by reviewing job descriptions and specifications.
  • Maintain necessary Compensation documentation with respect to compliance with Sarbanes Oxley and various other laws and regulations.
  • Maintain budget and invoicing process as relates to Compensation department expenses.
  • Special analysis & other duties may be assigned as business needs require.


Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Finance, Business or a related discipline from an accredited college or university preferred. Professional certification (CCP) preferred, but not required.

Experience: 5-7 years of compensation or other relevant HR experience preferred. Experience with a Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) such as Success Factors, SAP, and market pricing systems such as Payfactors or other similar compensation systems preferred.


Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

- Ability to use a personal computer and Microsoft Office software applications.Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, with strong emphasis in statistical analysis. Advanced skill level in Microsoft Excel is preferred.
- Must have the ability to prepare and analyze statistical reports.
- Understand client needs and have the ability to meet and exceed expectations.
- Determined in completing assignments/tasks in the face of resistance or setbacks.
- Anticipate and accept changes in the organization and adapt to meet new requirements.
- Willing to accept accountability for own decisions, performance, and behavior.
- Ability to establish and maintain a positive and professional working relationship with all individuals, listen carefully and understand various points of view and perform in a team environment.

- Excellent oral and written communication skills essential to interact with internal and external contacts.

Physical Requirements:

Occasionally requires lifting as appropriate to perform duties and responsibilities.

Working Conditions:

- Primarily office environment.
- Willingness to work outside normal business hours as necessary, especially during critical issue resolution and to achieve project milestones.
