Job Description

This position will support NREL's human centered energy services division by building a mobile application that aids individuals in their daily mobility planning. Application features will include multi-mode segmentation of travel and integration of other mobility related data gathered from cloud resources and third party applications such as presence of ride sharing services, weather data, real-time traffic data, public transportation routes and timetables and personal calendar information. Job Duties The building of mo bile application that integrates real-time location data along with third party API's pertaining to public transit, ride sharing services and current weather data and forecasts. Emphasis will be on modular design principles and easy access to code for data analysis. Required Education and Experience Relevant Bachelor's Degree and 5 or more years of experience or equivalent relevant education/experience.

Or, relevant Master's Degree and 3 or more years of experience or equivalent relevant education/experience.

Or, relevant PhD or equivalent relevant education/experience. Required Knowledge, Skills and Attributes Complete understanding and wide application of principles, concepts and techniques in specific field. General knowledge of related IS disciplines.

Strong leadership and project management skills. Skilled in analytical techniques, practices and problem solving. Advanced programming, design and analysis abilities with various computer software programs and information systems. Additional Required Knowledge, Skills and Attributes Recent working experience developing, releasing, and maintaining mobile (Android) applications that require user authentication. Must have experience integrating data from API's, remote web services and working with OAuth protected data.

Proven ability to deliver advanced coding and work in a team setting.

Demonstrated success in developing, and delivering error free code in a team setting.

Success with meeting milestones and communicating obstacles that may prevent meeting milestones.

Contributes to the big picture as a team player. Preferred Qualifications - Web frontend visualization methods, construction of server backend components;

- Database management in MongoDB or similar;

- Creating asynchronous server backend preferably in a Python framework; and

- Bachelor's degree in Computer science or related field. Suitable experience in developing mobile applications

- Developing iOS applications;

- Data encryption;

- PII handling methods;

- Integration of other data streams; such as, biometrics and vehicular on board diagnostics tool (OBDII); and

- Elicit user behavior, beliefs and preferences through surveys Additional Job Information This is a temporary position. Subsequent extensions may be available based upon the needs of the Lab.
