Job Description Novo Nordisk in West Lebanon, NH has an exciting opportunity for an EH&S Technician to join our growing team! This individual is responsible for the day-to-day waste handling and inspection readiness for all waste systems in the facility. Under general direction, support facility compliance with federal, state, and local environmental and occupational safety and health regulations.

Relationships:

* Reports to: Site Services & EH&S Supervisor

Main Job Tasks:

* Facilitate collection, labeling, storage, and shipment of hazardous and non-hazardous waste streams under the direction of an onsite EHS professional.
* Execute waste disposal and recycling programs within compliance while implementing ideas for reducing volume and costs.
* Primary responsibility for performing compliance inspections for RCRA accumulation areas and waste treatment.
* Support continuous improvement of EHS programs, management systems, and compliance documentation.
* Collect and prepare data for management/environmental reporting at the direction of supervisor
* Support the Site Services department with general building and grounds maintenance.
* Oversee contractors for waste handling, building repairs and minor modifications/renovations
* Other duties as directed by supervisor.
* Performs all job duties and responsibilities in a compliant and ethical manner and in accordance with all applicable healthcare laws, regulations and industry codes.
* Incorporates the Novo Nordisk Way and 10 Essentials in all activities and interactions with others.

Physical Requirements:

* Ability to lift 33 pounds.
* Ability to climb stairs, ladders, and access potentially awkward or difficult locations.
* Travel: 0 - 5%

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

* High school diploma or Associate's degree with a minimum of five (5) years relevant experience. Bachelor's degree in a science or engineering with two (2) + years of experience
* Strong communication and time management skills.
* Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment.
* Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and apply new skills accurately.
* Strong personal integrity and compliance focus.
* Experience with MS Office Suite.
* Ability to read and understand SDS/MSDS and generate waste profiles.
* Understanding of cGMP requirements preferred.
* Basic knowledge of OSHA regulations preferred.
* Able to obtain and maintain First Aid/CPR, RCRA, DOT, HAZWOPER, and New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services (NH DES) Hazardous Waste Coordinator (HWC) certifications
