Job Description Purpose

The Associate Manager - Field Insights and Analytics position is responsible for providing insights, analytics and strategic recommendations to Diabetes Sales leadership. The Associate Manager will provide support directly to the sales VP and aligned Sales Execution director, conducting sub-national sales analysis and presenting actionable finding/recommendations Additional responsibilities include conducting national / sub-national analysis on key performance drivers, partnering with Marketing / Marketing Effectiveness teams on brand analysis, managing analytics cross-functional projects and enhancing team's analytic capabilities.

Relationships

Reports to the Director - Field Insights & Analytics. Interacts regularly with members of the Field Force Effectiveness team, Sales VP's, Regional Business Directors, Sales Execution leadership, IT, Marketing and other key stakeholders. External relationships include vendors and information technology developers

Essential Functions:
* EDUCATION AND TRAINING:
* Develop materials to support Sales Execution team on data analytics and insightful behavior
* SALES ANALYSIS:
* Analyze sales data to proactively identify areas of opportunity or concern
* Partner with Sales leadership to plan and execute topics based on developed recommendations
* Analyze sales data for trends and accuracy. Identify and report unusual results to senior regional sales leadership and propose innovative recommendations
* Become an expert in data visualization tools to allow for deep dives into new and complex data sets
* Conduct deep dives on specific topics and communicate key conclusions and recommendations as directed by Manager
* Identify and implement projects to leverage regional business opportunities and drive business results
* In collaboration with Director, assess and integrate new data sets, metrics and analytical frameworks
* Provide ongoing business insight to support and help deliver sales results for regional sales leadership teams
* Support Sales Execution director in preparation for and execution of business review meetings with assigned sales VP
* Work with Director to cascade national level insights and conclusions to regional analytics managers/analysts on team
* SALES PLANNING:
* Collaborate with management to develop sales cycle business objectives, insights and storyline for driving regional business planning process
* Collaborate with Director to identify and communicate to regional sales leadership key
* Drive strategic initiatives to address trends and dynamics in retail sales channel and individual regions within assigned geography
* Identify, develop and implement best practices in the execution of regional sales business plans
* Provide processes, improvements and insights to drive all major regional business initiatives
* Collaborate with the Data and Systems team to develop sales performance reports
* Collaborate with the Data and Systems team to ensure accuracy and timeliness of reporting to the field
* Participate in sales meeting planning processes (as needed), representing Field Force Effectiveness and providing any requested data or information.
Physical Requirements:
* 0-10% overnight travel required
Qualifications:
* A Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution is required. Preferred degree in mathematics, statistics, engineering, finance, or business
* 4+ years analytics experience is preferred. Pharmaceutical analytics and/or consulting experience is strongly preferred. Advanced analytical skills preferred. Relevant coursework or academic projects experience could be considered, in addition to work experience
* Comfort operating in a fast-paced, environment, with a quality control focus and a documentation orientation
* Advanced analytics and data visualization skills are preferred - R, SAS, Tableau, Qlik, etc…
* Experience with pharmaceutical data, specifically Xponent, Xponent PlanTrak, and Chargeback data is preferred
* Innate intellectual curiosity, demonstrated desire to take initiative, and ability to think creatively to solve problems
* Project management skills
* Quantitative analysis skills
* Statistical programming experience preferred.
