Title Manager - Marketing Investment & Patient Analytics

Job Description Purpose

Represents CE-Marketing Effectiveness as the Center of Excellence in patient-level data analytics and marketing investments analytics for the Diabetes & Obesity marketing organization.
Provides comprehensive analytics and actionable insights from anonymous patient-level data sources to understand the Diabetes & Obesity market dynamics at the patient level perspective in support of evidence-based strategic and tactical decisions. Support Diabetes & Obesity marketing with holistic, insight-driven marketing investment activities evaluation and consultation, including management of the Speaker Program reporting system.
Proactively conducts in-depth data mining and analytics in support of gaining quantitative business insights. Develops presentations and reports, reflecting clear and concise conclusions and recommendations for key stakeholders.

Relationships

This position will report to the Director, Marketing Analytics & Investment within the Marketing Effectiveness group. Extensive interaction with key stakeholders from Marketing, Sales, and Global Insights & Forecasting, as well as various functions within the Commercial Effectiveness department on a routine basis is required, to ensure focus is maintained on relevant business issues. External relationships include primary and secondary data vendors.

Essential Functions:

COLLABORATION AND COMMUNICATION:
* Develops and executes presentations with clear storylines to communicate key conclusions and recommendations to brand and management teams.
* Interprets and contextualizes analytical findings within the framework of existing body of research and market trends.
* Develops distinct, actionable business implications (with or without guidance from senior members). Develops and sustains relationships with key analytic stakeholders including Data Governance, Field Force Effectiveness, Market Access Effectiveness, Market Intelligence, Forecasting, Strategic Pricing, etc.
ESTABLISH CENTER OF EXCELLENCE IN PATIENT-LEVEL DATA INSIGHTS
* Collaborates with the existing patient-data core team to establish the analytical foundation of patient-level transactional data mining process. Conducts hypothesis-driven investigations into detailed physician-level, patient-level and transactional-level data, to gain business insights from various customer perspectives (HCPs, patients, payers) independently or with collaboration with other analytics teams. Uncover opportunities for growth through the analysis of patient data.
* Identifies need to continuously advance the sophistication of the patient-level data analytics and proactively execute plan to gain new capabilities
SPEAKER PROGRAM AND PATIENT TACTICS:
* Develops distinct, actionable business implications (with or without guidance from senior members) to continuously improving the speaker program performance. Ensures accuracy and timely processing of speaker program data from internal and external sources. Collaborates with IT for maintenance and improvements of the speaker program BI system
* Conducts timely, on-going analysis and reporting to concisely communicate relevant speaker program performance through periodic or adhoc reporting. Conduct patient tactic effectiveness/impact analyses and reporting.
MARKETING AND SALES EFFECTIVENESS
* Conducts impact and ROI analysis of key marketing tactics for brand teams/COEs and provides holistic, insight-driven marketing investment recommendations to optimize the outcomes.
* Implements Return on Investment principles for reporting. Proposes and executes on improvements to existing processes and reporting. Design tests, define success metrics and objectives and report on results to determine ways to improve marketing strategies and achieve larger business objectives.
INNOVATION
* Pro-actively looks for innovative solutions to address key stakeholder needs after gathering input from stakeholders and sets direction accordingly; provides actionable recommendations
* Proactively identifies relevant process improvement projects to ensure that the team is working optimally with data, assessments and stakeholders
* Creates innovative quantitative models as needed and documents with detailed assumptions and process
Physical Requirements:
* 0-10% overnight travel required
Qualifications:
* A Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution is required. Preferred degree in finance, business, engineering, or related field. MBA, MSc or MPH preferred
* 6+ years relevant pharmaceuticals experience in patient analytics, ROI analytics, business analysis, market research, sales analysis, forecasting or other related areas. Statistical modelling experience highly desired. Alternatively; 4 years of consulting experience in pharmaceutical industry for top tier consulting firm will be considered
* 2+ years hands-on experience in conducting analysis with anonymous patient-level transactional data, either claims or electronic health records (e.g. LRx, Pharmetrics, LAAD, FIA, Symphony Health, Truven, GE-Centricity) is required
* Expertise with IMS data and other secondary industry sources is preferred
* Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills required. Ability to solve complex, unstructured problems; able to see big picture from scattered pieces of information and present and integrate complex and disparate data in a clear and concise manner.
* Strong PowerPoint and Excel skills required. Experience in SAS, R or other database analytical platform is required. In-depth knowledge of multivariate statistics (e.g., cluster analysis, regression models, experimental design, etc.).
* Comfort operating in a fast-paced, environment, with a quality control focus and a documentation orientation
* Possess analytic curiosity to seek out and develop potential solutions and drive continuous improvement. Demonstrated desire to take initiative, and ability to think creatively to solve complex problems.
* Ability to balance multiple projects with competing deadlines. Strong project management skills.
* Ability to collect and synthesize complex information, making it relevant, understandable and actionable for key stakeholders. Effective at presenting complex, technical concepts and analysis in a compelling and persuasive manner to non-technical audiences.
* Strong ability to work independently as well as in teams
