Title Manager, Clinical Operations Resourcing

Job Description Purpose

Supports successful clinical trials by managing resourcing at a departmental, function, role and individual level including resource planning and allocation in alignment with departmental workload demands and needs


Reports to the Associate Director - Operational Execution. Interacts directly with Senior Leadership and Line of Business management across functions within the department. Leads resourcing planning and allocation efforts through the development of a CTM Resourcing strategy with recommendations to the Senior Leadership Team for improvements in capacity and efficiency. Collaborates closely with CTM Technology, Feasibility, HR, Global Development Business Analysis, Global Trial Allocation and external vendors. Oversee reallocation of workload and resources across the department with impact assessments by function, role and individual.

Essential Functions


* Acts as an expert for CTM resourcing supply and demand. Drive and coordinate resourcing support to CTM Line of Business teams through regular meetings and reports.
* Leverage data analytics to identify areas for capacity and efficiency gains within resourcing models
* Collaborate with CTM Feasibility team to determine resource needs for country feasibility proposals as well as site and patient reallocations
* Provide CTM management accurate and timely resource forecasts, including bottlenecks
* Directs the flow of resources across CTM functions and roles to ensure supply meets workload demands through collaboration with global colleagues and local CTM management teams.
* Leads, develops, executes and drives a CTM Resourcing strategy and gains endorsement from the Senior Management Team.
* Directs technology system changes impacting resourcing across all levels of the department. Accountable for ensuring system functionality and acceptance within CTM.
* Manages resource management projects. Ensures effective communication of process and system changes to stakeholders.
* Creates and implements process flows for resource allocation.
* Oversees timely resource allocations across trials.
* Superuser and subject matter expert ClinSource and other relevant systems and tools applicable to resourcing.


* Accountable for compliance and quality of CATS reporting.
* Active membership to local/global project teams.
* Assists with ensuring that quality of performance is in accordance with departmental expectations for function.
* Attends relevant team and department meetings, forums, conferences and scientific meetings, as necessary.
* Identifies, leads, develops, supports and communicates functional, departmental or organizational initiatives.
* Participates in cross-functional teams locally/globally to assure timely attainment of project milestones.
* Provides support for the implementation of continuous improvement processes for role and/or function.
* Responsible for conducting oneself in accordance with expectations as a project team member to ensure the success of a matrix management structure.
* Responsible to maintain focus for specific project activities within CTM priorities.

* A Bachelor's degree required
* A minimum of 7 years of progressively responsible relevant experience required, with at least 2 years in resource analysis.
* Pharmaceutical experience preferred.
* Analytical, negotiation, cross-functional team and leadership skills required
* Demonstrated ability to collaborate across management levels
* Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication skills, customer service focus
* Proven ability to easily grasp and master new software technologies for implementation in resource planning
