Title Manager - Marketing Analytics (GLP-1)

Job Description Purpose

Proactively monitors business developments and market trends via on-going analytical support, research, project coordination, and maintains related tools and systems required by Novo Nordisk's US Diabetes franchise, with main responsibilities to support GLP-1 portfolio. Creates, refines and updates quantitative tracking models and systems, along with documented supporting assumptions.
Conducts in-depth data mining and analytics in support of gaining quantitative business insights. Develops communications materials including slides and reports reflecting clear and concise conclusions and recommendations for key stakeholders.


This position will report to the Director, Marketing Analytics & Investment within the Marketing Effectiveness group. Extensive interaction with key stakeholders from Marketing, Sales, Finance, Strategic Pricing, Market Access, Global Insights & Forecasting, as well as various functions within the Commercial Effectiveness department on a routine basis is required, to ensure focus is maintained on relevant business issues. External relationships include secondary data vendors and information technology developers.

Essential Functions:

* Develops and executes presentations with clear storylines to communicate key conclusions and recommendations to brand and management teams.
* Develops and sustains relationships with key analytic stakeholders including Data Governance, Field Force Effectiveness, Market Access Effectiveness, Market Intelligence, Forecasting, Strategic Pricing, etc.
* Responsible for providing expert-level training and assistance to appropriate department staff members in use of analytical tools and data sources.
* Creates and update the catalog of standardized market definitions and analytical business rules used within the analyses and reports.
* Develops and maintains efficient data and reporting processes to minimize manual data updates
* Ensures timely receipt of data from vendors and ensures data integrity throughout all processing
* Develops and maintains (in close coordination with IT department) databases and analytic applications in environments such as SAP, Excel/Access, Business Objects, or other proprietary environments
* Ensures accuracy and timely processing of secondary data feeds from industry sources (e.g. Xponent, NSP, NPA, LRx, Channel Dynamics, and others) and internal data (call file, sales data, speaker program etc.) into Excel and other BI environments using automated procedures and custom programming
* Conducts hypothesis-driven investigations into detailed physician-level, patient-level and transactional-level data, to gain business insights from various customer perspectives (HCPs, patients, payers) independently or with collaboration with other analytics teams.
* Interprets and contextualizes analytical findings within the framework of existing body of research and market trends
* Develops distinct, actionable business implications (with or without guidance from senior members)
* Leads the development and refinement of timely, on-going analysis and reporting to concisely communicate relevant business issues through adhoc reporting or periodic national-level market reporting
* Maintains detailed master-calendar of key deliverables, including lead times for editing and approval processes.
* Ownership of the development, maintenance and update of all national-level business and market tracking analyses according to a defined schedule.
* Pro-actively streamlines and documents processes supporting the generation of all national-level tracking reports.
Physical Requirements:
* 0-10% overnight travel required
* A Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution is required. Preferred degree in finance, business, engineering, or related field. MBA, MSc or MPH preferred
* 6+ years of relevant experience in marketing, market research, forecasting, sales analysis, finance, pricing, or other related areas. Experience in pharmaceutical analytics preferred.
* Expertise with IMS data and other secondary industry sources is required
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills required
* Strong PowerPoint and Excel skills. MS Access or other database platform required.
* Comfort operating in a fast-paced, environment, with a quality control focus and a documentation orientation
* Innate intellectual curiosity, demonstrated desire to take initiative, and ability to think creatively to solve complex problems
* Outstanding team- and client-facing communication skills
* Strong project management skills
* Strong ability to work independently as well as in teams
