Job Description

Designs, develops, documents, tests and debugs applications software and systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions. Conducts multidisciplinary research and collaborates with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for product and commercial software. Determines computer user needs; analyzes system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls; prepares operating instructions; designs and develops compilers and assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems. Ensures software standards are met.

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems sector is seeking recent college graduates AND graduating seniors for highly competitive entry level Software Engineer roles within our team of qualified, diverse individuals. Join an agile software development team designing and building advanced, state-of-the-art, aircraft mission planning software for the B-2 bomber. Your work will be performed using Agile development methodologies in a team environment.

Roles and Responsibilities:

- Designs, develops, documents, tests and debugs applications software and systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions.

- Develop advanced, automated, real-time complex problem solving mission planning software for manned and unmanned applications.

- Problem domains include optimization of Mission Planning, Air Vehicle Routing, Allocation, and Target Assignment.

- Your work will be performed using Agile development methodologies in a team environment.

The position is located in Redondo Beach, CA. We are seeking students who have recently graduated and are available to start ASAP AND graduating seniors who are graduating in 2016.

Basic Qualifications:

- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Aerospace Engineering from an accredited institution

- GPA of 3.2 or better

- Candidates will have taken Computer Science classes in C and/or C#

- Basic understanding of software development lifecycle and roles within each phase

- Demonstrated understanding of software design principles (e.g. software design patterns)

- Demonstrated success working individually or as part of a team requiring little supervision

- US Citizenship and must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

- Internship experience is a plus

- Experience with VisualStudio development environment and C

- Linux experience

- Embedded software experience

- An active Secret security clearance
