Job Description

Northrop Grumman is seeking an Engineer Software Quality 1 . This position will be located at our Aerospace Systems Sector in Redondo Beach, CA . On our team, you'll help develop satellites, unmanned aircraft, and ground systems that enhance our knowledge of global weather and environmental trends.

Our Aerospace Systems team develops, integrates, produces, and supports manned and unmanned aircraft, spacecraft, high-energy laser systems, microelectronics, and other systems and subsystems critical to keeping the world safe.

The qualified applicant will become part of Northrop Grumman's Global Missions Excellence team. The selected candidate will work in a dynamic people-focused environment where he/she will interact with users, customers and other developers.

Roles and Responsibilities

Provides Systems and Software Quality Assurance (SSQA) expertise to the Space Systems Division programs at Redondo Beach CA.
Focuses on software product and process quality throughout the program life-cycle.
Ensures that the flow down of system/software requirements is complete and unambiguous and that consistent bidirectional traceability is maintained.
Supports Requirements, Code and Documentation Peer Reviews and Product Reviews as a principal team member to ensure 1st time quality and compliance to Government program and company requirements.
Participates in program milestone reviews, program/IPT meetings, and configuration control board meetings to provide SSQA leadership and guidance.
Performs internal process audits of the engineering and management processes to assure compliance to established policies, procedures, work instructions, and program specific plans.
Examines the products associated with the preparation and configuration control of software test environments to assess the team's readiness to enter formal testing.
Ensures appropriate corrective and preventive actions are developed and implemented in a timely manner
Interfaces with various company and customer engineering disciplines, program offices, test teams and Configuration Management.
Performs test witnessing execution of software qualification and system acceptance tests to ensure tests are executed in accordance with approved test procedures, requirements are fully verified, and that all test procedure and software anomalies are documented and tracked to closure
Evaluates overall capability and quality management system of software suppliers via surveillance audits, product reviews, formal milestone reviews, and test witnessing
Participates in SSQA bid and proposal efforts to support software quality cost estimates

Basic Qualifications

Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in Software Engineer, Computer Science, or related field of study is required
Active or in process to obtain SCI clearance
US Citizenship
Verbal, writing, presentation, and leadership skills are essential.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
Outstanding communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications

Previous internship experience in software development, integration and test environments.
Active SCI Clearance
Cumulative 3.2 GPA and above
