Northrop Grumman Corporation, an Industry-leading Aerospace and Department of Defense (DoD) Contractor Company, is hiring a Junior-level Software Configuration Analyst within the Aerospace Sector, located in Redondo Beach, CA.

As a Software Configuration Analyst 1, you will work with more senior Software Configuration Analysts to assist in identifying, tracking and implementing software engineering change processes, within a mid-to-large, matrixed, multi-functional Aerospace engineering Integrated Project Team (IPT).

This initial mid-term focus for this position will be to work on the James Webb Telescope (JWST) project. The James Webb Space Telescope is a collaborative, multi-national space agency effort to deploy the next-generation space telescope, replacing and expanding on the legacy of the Hubble Space Telescope.

Of paramount importance for this position is the ability to communicate effectively with various technical and business management stakeholders, and to apply strong time-management skills to meet critical deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Upon completion of JWST, this role will transition to other exciting new or ongoing aerospace programs, some of which may require obtaining and maintaining a DoD Secret Clearance.

Primary Responsibilities:

* Develop and maintains software configuration management tools to support configuration identification, control, reporting, and delivery of both internally developed and externally purchased commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) software products
* Perform configuration management and release engineering tasks to ensure new software product operating parameters are documented, comply with standard hardware configurations, and are logistically sustainable
* Design, develop, automate, and maintain productivity tools using programming, database or scripting languages (i.e. Perl/Python/Etc.) to improve software modeling and development
* Designs and implement build procedures that are used to support software product development and use

Required Qualifications:

* Bachelor of Science Degree in a Science, Technical, Engineering or Math (STEM) Discipline, from an accredited university
* Must be a US Citizen
* At least 6 months' professional or internship experience in a technical field, as part of multi-functional team
* Professionally proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint
* Good interpersonal communication skills with ability to work effectively individually and in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

* Master's Degree in a STEM discipline
* Knowledge of scripting languages like Perl or Python
* Ability to write/edit VBA macros for MS Excel
* Experience with Software Engineering Change Control tools such as ClearCase and/or ClearQuest
