Job Description

Where Technology and Teamwork come together... Northrop Grumman Information Systems (NGIS) sector is seeking a Front End Web Developer and Designer for their web-based Enterprise Military Housing (eMH) system. eMH was developed by Northrop Grumman over the past decade and provides functionality for managing on-base housing offices, supporting service members and their families especially during change of duty stations reserving temporary hotels, getting loaner furniture while waiting for overseas shipments, and selecting a home for the period of their overseas tour of duty. We are looking for a java developer and web designer to help develop a public facing website that will provide free access to military members and landlords/property managers to rental and for sale by owner (FSBO) listings near each military installation.

The ideal candidate should have at least 5 years of experience developing and/or designing websites and web technologies with a combination of Java, HTML, AJAX, CSS JavaScript, JBoss and JQuery to create dynamic and engaging user experiences.

The candidate should have a strong sense of usability, knowledge of web graphic design tools, techniques and principles as well as advanced visual design skills (including color and page layout design). The candidate should be able to produce rapid prototypes, storyboards, and mockups of process flow, page layouts, and user interface elements design deliverables.

This position is contingent upon funding of the position.
Basic Qualifications:
To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below:

- Bachelor's Degree with 5 years of directly related work experience; or, an additional 4 years of work experience can be substituted in lieu of the degree
- Must have minimum 5 years of strong experience in core J2EE
- Extensive knowledge of user interface design and web page layout.
- Strong SQL skills and familiarity with stored procedures, RDBMS design and Oracle 11g
- Good technical documentation skills.
- Familiarity with source control systems (SVN), and defect tracking systems (JIRA, CQ)
- Exposure to formal release management processes. Experience in working in a team environment under source control. Experience with QA and application testing and acceptance. Demonstrated working experience in providing production support and problem solving for objected oriented Web applications.
- Great time management skills.
- U.S. Citizenship required.

Preferred Qualifications:
Demonstrated experience and ability in the following areas is preferred but not required:

- Hands-on Web Services development experience (using Java) with knowledge of SOAP, WSDL, JAX-WS and Apache
- Experience in DoD Housing regulations, processes, and procedures
- Familiarity with reporting tools such as Crystal Reports
