Job Description

Full Time, Monday through Friday, 8 am to 4:30 pm.
Salary Range: $15.10 - $19.77 /hourly; $31,529 - $41,280 /annually

Job Summary:

Northland Community and Technical College has an opening in student services for a Student Services Specialist. The purpose of this position is to assist new and returning students through the admissions and enrollment process at Northland. By using the Minnesota State approved data entry system and assisting visitors/callers the student services specialist determines the nature of their request and provides responses regarding NCTC programs and policies. This position also will serve as the student services receptionist, directing students and other clientele to appropriate offices or departments and assists the campus Student Service department to operate efficiently.

Principle Responsibilities and Results:

1. Provide information to new and returning students regarding admissions and enrollment processes and all areas of student services.
2. Serve as the Student Service Department Receptionist and College-wide Receptionist Back-up
3. Manage reciprocity reports/data entry.
4. Maintain student immunization records for all required students.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
Knowledge of:
o Current data entry procedures, including filing and storage, and verification of accuracy before entering
o Computer software applications to create spreadsheets from a variety of sources and compile lists and letters for purpose of tracking students, etc.

Skills in:
" Customer service sufficient to answer phones, refer callers, and greet visitors/student with courtesy and respect.
" English sufficient to understand and be understood during in-person, e-mail/written and phone interactions with others.
Ability to:
" Keyboard / type 40 wpm, sufficient to produce memos and correspondence in an efficient and timely manner

Preferred Qualifications:
o Ability to organize multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines
o Attention to detail sufficient to achieve thoroughness and accuracy when accomplishing tasks
o Knowledge of the college's programs/majors
o Knowledge of Minnesota State's student record system
