ONLINE ADJUNCT INSTRUCTOR FOR SOCIAL SCIENCES
Responsibilities: Teach ONLINE Social Science classes as the College of Arts and Science assigns. Online instructors must complete required instructor training before the teaching assignment starts. Sociology instructors report to the Department Chair of History and Social Sciences and Dean, College of Arts & Science at Northern State University in Aberdeen, SD.
Qualifications: Successful candidate should possess: (1) Ph.D. in Sociology or a related field from an accredited university required; (2) experience in the Social Science industry in a senior leadership role preferred; (3) experience teaching in higher education desired; (4) experience teaching online using Desire to Learn (D2L) course management system desired.

DIRECTOR FOR TRIO/SSS
The TRIO SSS Director will manage the services provided to students enrolled in NSU’s TRIO Student Support Services Program. The Director will manage all facets of the federal grant from the U.S. Department of Education including, but not limited to, oversight of the TRIO SSS application process; maintain federally compliant record keeping regarding grant expenditures; prepare annual budget; track student contacts; and prepare and submit the Annual Performance Report (APR).
Required Formal Education and Training:
- Master’s degree from an accredited institution in counseling, education, academic administration, or a related field
- Training, either pre- or post-hire, in planning, implementing, and assessing services such as personnel management, budget management, academic advising, and mentoring in a university setting.
