The Academic Advisor, Special Cohorts, provides personalized academic advising from the point of admission through graduation and beyond for learners who enter Northeastern's College of Professional Studies (CPS) through academic partnerships, and works closely with other departments in the university. Reporting into the CPS Academic Advising & Learner Success unit, s/he is responsible for an assigned caseload of learners to facilitate the development and delivery of academic and professional development plans & services that integrate with intentional curriculum and career planning and exploration to ensure each learner's academic success and career aspirations. S/he will engage with students for academic advising, to support the unique needs of cohort students including Global Classroom through one-on-one engagement, and other forms of outreach to enhance the student experience. S/he will also maintain up-to-date notes and record keeping of each student, including tracking of student academic progress and outcomes. S/he will connect with students using multiple modalities and in ways tailored to their preferences and convenience for development, communication, professional engagement, and academic success.
