About Northeast Georgia Health System

An affiliate of Northeast Georgia Health System (NGHS), the Braselton Clinic provides a full spectrum of healthcare services with a comprehensive team approach to preventive health maintenance and chronic disease management. In additional to internal medicine, the Braselton Clinic also offers state-of-the-art digital imaging, on-site physical therapy, laboratory services and convenient access to specialty care including cardiology, gastroenterology, orthopaedics, plastic surgery, general surgery, sports medicine, urology and diabetes management. Drs. James Jackson, Gary Dalley and John Buchanan are the physicians in practice at the Braselton Clinic. "It's been rewarding to help fulfill the great need in this community for exceptional healthcare services, close to home," says Dr. Jackson. "The area is growing rapidly, but the small town atmosphere remains - it's been the best of both worlds for us." "We truly appreciate the support of the community during our first year of service," adds Dr. Dalley. "In fact, in order to better meet the growing needs of the community and to maintain thoroughly coordinated, state-of-the-art health care that is personalized to the individual needs of each patient, we have added a new physician assistant (PA), Lorie Campbell, and have begun plans for an expansion project later this year." A board certified Physician Assistant, Lorie Campbell earned her bachelor of health science education/ physician assistant degree from the University of Florida and her master of health services administration degree from the University of Central Florida. "During our first year of service, we have experienced tremendous growth, adding one full-time physician, various specialty groups and now a new PA," says Belinda Moore, practice manager at the Braselton Clinic. "With more than 15 years of primary care experience, Lorie is an extraordinary addition to our growing team." The Braselton Clinic has served more than 15,000 patients since opening in 2006. "NGHS is planning to double the clinic's size, allowing us to add another full-time physician and provide additional space for our specialty physicians who see patients at the clinic on a part-time basis," says Richard Tanzella, executive director of Physician Services for NGHS. "We never imagined we would be working on an expansion project of this magnitude after only one year of service. That is a great testament to the quality of service provided by our physicians and staff and to the great need for healthcare services in this area." NGHS also has purchased a 119-acre site off Thompson Mill Road near the Braselton Clinic for the development of a 100-bed inpatient hospital pending Certificate of Need (CON) approval from the Department of Community Health. The site borders a new four-lane highway, State Route 347, being planned by the Georgia Department of Transportation. The timeline of the Health System's construction is in alignment with the DOT's proposed timeline for SR 347, which is projected for completion in 2011-2012. "Since joining the Braselton Clinic last fall, I have been most impressed with the variety of services that we offer and the caring manner in which they are delivered," says Dr. Buchanan. "We are looking forward to many more years of service to the community and the patients of the Braselton Clinic." The Braselton Clinic is open 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
