Job Description

Meritas Health, a subsidiary of North Kansas City Hospital, is seeking a Human Resources Specialist to join its HR team to support a network of 30 primary and specialty care clinics located across the Northland.

The HR Specialist assists with recruiting and new employee on-boarding efforts by preparing new hire paperwork and scheduling pre-employment screenings; may also conduct new employee orientations and other employee training.  You'll be the first point of contact to answer employee questions concerning benefits; you'll coordinate benefits enrollment and maintain the benefits systems.

You'll also maintain the HRIS system to support the HR department as it relates to payroll and benefits; you'll process employee change forms and ensure proper approval while disseminating information to the appropriate departments.  You'll assist with special projects that support HR and Meritas.

Successful candidates will have excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, along with the ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently within short deadlines.  Must be able to work in a fast-paced, high volume environment and maintain accuracy.  Strong familiarity with HRIS systems (Lawson preferred); advanced computer proficiency and Microsoft Office skills.

Basic knowledge of payroll processes, federal, state and local laws is helpful.  Bachelors degree and 1-3 years of HR experience is preferred.  This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to grow their HR knowledge and experience!
