Job Description

Discover It Here

At Nordstromrack.com and
HauteLook, we strive to empower shoppers through choice and discovery of the
hottest fashion at great prices. At the intersection of technology,
fashion and design, we value employees who have great in-"sites" to fashion and
e-commerce, act fast, think creatively and embody our customer-first mentality.
Our fast-paced, dynamic culture attracts creative, passionate individuals with
a determined, can-do attitude and entrepreneurial spirit.

Work hard and play hard
in a fun, casual and collaborative work environment in the heart of Downtown
LA.

Who we are:

Are you ready to help build and expand a rapidly growing business
within the Nordstrom family? Do you enjoy working on complex routing, shortest
path and optimization problems? Are you looking for a team of high performers
to help expand your skills and experience?

We are the Enterprise Apps team. With responsibility over building
and supporting various enterprise applications including Order Management,
Customer Order Routing, Distributed Fulfillment, Shipping, Warehouse
Management, Accounts Payable, Purchase Orders and Inventory Control, we are a
significant part of Nordstromrack.com & HauteLook's customer experience. We
build out new features and experiences on the Microsoft .NET technology stack
that directly affect our ability to provide the best in class customer
experience. We are looking to expand our team to improve the quality of all key
applications and systems that will allow us to continue our rapid growth. We
operate in a fast-paced environment using agile methodology and lightweight SOA
design patterns. We encourage innovation and expect software engineers to take
a high level of ownership throughout the software life cycle.

Here's who we're looking for:

You're the type of person who thrives on taking care of things the
right way the first time. You excel at testing software early and often in the
software development life-cycle. You can rapidly review requirements for
development, extrapolate a test plan, and build an automation test suite to
reduce the time required for manual testing, decrease defects while improving
overall quality. When you say "I'll take care of it" we know it'll be
done well. You love working on Microsoft technologies & frameworks like SQL
Server, ASP.NET MVC, WCF, Entity Framework and ASP.NET Web API but you get
excited when you hear a hallway conversation about Robot Framework, Iron
Python, Elastic Search, Docker or Redis. You are passionate about code quality
and can passionately explain the difference between Behavior Driven Development
and Test Driven Development to a junior developer. You have a strong desire to
automate everything. You hate hearing the words "It has always been done this
way" and are curious about why things are done the way they are today. You like
contributing to open source projects and believe that reading other people's
code widens your perspective and skillset. You have your stylistic preferences
when it comes to code but understand the discipline it takes to keep the source
code maintainable. You love troubleshooting issues and know what it takes to
get that code to Production if the Zombie apocalypse hits and the rest of the
team is unavailable.

If you were working for us, here are some of the things you would
have done last week:

Test
the newly built APIs required for Customer Orders and Shipping.
Review
software design to generate test approach and identification of automation
points.
Created
Behavior Driven Tests using Specflow for Customer Orders API.
Identify
Test Cases and ensure that all the required details are captured in the
Test Case Management System.
Identify
the test cases for automation based on importance to determining level of
confidence.
Provided
QA level of effort during sprint planning for testing the new Order
Management System.
Lead
the QA effort at the fulfillment center alongside operations to ensure all
is working as expected in production.
Worked
with the Shipping Carrier Tech Support to resolve the issue with the
transmission of end of day manifest files.
Provided
signoff for production deployments using the level of confidence metric
obtained during Test Case Execution.
Attended
the storyboarding session for the new Invoicing workflow that will speed
up the Accounts Payable process.
Provided
test workflow and knowledge transfer to QA peers for the new Invoicing
workflow.
Helped
the new developers get setup with their Behavior Driven Tests.
Worked
with the DevOps and Platform team to troubleshoot the issue of missing log
data in the ElasticSearch cluster.
Updated
hours spent working on various cards in JIRA and closed out your cards for
the sprint.
Provided
the quality update for final release candidate testing, during the current
sprint to stakeholders based on the metrics from the test execution report
in TFS.
Conducted
a brown bag session for the team on writing acceptance tests in Gherkin
and automating test cases using the Robot Framework .
Visited
the Fulfillment Center for a Technical Design session with the WMS
Analysts.
Here are some other things you might do:

Handle
any bugs escalated by Service Desk and Tier 2 support.
Travel
to Nordstrom HQ at Seattle and/or other Fulfillment Center locations for
requirements definition and technical design sessions.
Provide
on-call support and utilize Pager Duty for creating and updating support
schedules.
Fill
in on some basic support tasks if the team is shorthanded.

Experience is important. We're looking for someone who's worked
with Microsoft Technologies in the roles of Senior Software Engineer, Technical
Lead or Solution Architect in a solution focused fast paced team. You should
consider yourself a pro - this is not a job for first timers or interns.

We are an equal
opportunity employer committed to providing a diverse environment.

This job description is
intended to describe the general nature of the work employees can expect within
this particular job classification. It is certainly not a comprehensive
inventory of all duties, responsibilities and qualifications required for this
job.
