Job Description

Job Summary:

Responsible for fostering, maintaining and developing community relationships and community membership expansion through recruitment of new communities. Assists in deployment/support of all NOPEC initiatives, programs and products to communities and their leadership, potential community members, NOPEC residential and commercial customers and the general public by performing the duties outlined below personally or as otherwise directed by the Senior Relationship Manager.

Essential Functions:

  • Participate in the creation of NOPEC community expansion/retention and customer relationship strategy.
  • Participate in the creation of NOPEC revenue and account growth objectives for products and services related to retention and expansion of NOPEC member communities.
  • Work, as directed, with other team members to develop and deploy retail, small business, and mercantile level retail offerings designed to attract, retain and expand NOPEC's customer and community base.
  • Conducts the daily activities of securing appropriate resolutions/ordinances to establish new and expanded NOPEC members and to establish aggregation programming.
  • Participates in the development and presentation of progress reports to existing membership on their existing aggregation programming including projected savings, and growth/attrition.
  • Participates in the development of comprehensive marketing plans and programs, both short and long range, to support NOPEC sales and customer relations campaigns and activities.
  • Participates in the data gathering, research, and analysis, and monitoring of the competitive environment and evolving market conditions.
  • Assists in the introduction, promotion, and administration of allied NOPEC products including: PACE Program, Mercantile program, New Electric Member Grant Program, and other NOPEC products.
  • Establishes and maintains positive relationships with elected and appointed officials both within existing NOPEC membership and with prospective NOPEC members.

  • Participates in the planning of additional staffing to support NOPEC goals.
  • Participates in the development and preparation of reports and analytics to identify new market opportunities and to monitor the progress of ongoing sales and relationship building campaigns.
  • Presents reports and provides details on sales and relationship management progress to Senior Management, the Board of Directors, and to the General Assembly as appropriate.

Works with Executive Director, Marketing Director, Senior Relationship Manager, and other NOPEC staff to establish and maintain a positive and progressive corporate image.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Education and Experience: Bachelor's Degree in Marketing or Equivalent from an accredited college or university. Master's degree preferred.
  • Computer Skills: Competency in all office based functions (Microsoft Office - all major components), Customer Relationship Management software, database management, and presentation software.

Physical Requirements:

  • Valid Ohio Driver's license and proof of automobile insurance at a level established by NOPEC.
  • Sitting, standing, bending, occasional lifting of up to 60 pounds required.
  • Ability to use office equipment including but not limited to office copier, shredder, computer equipment, audio/visual equipment
  • Ability to speak in a clear and easily comprehendible manner.
  • Exceptional communications and presentation skills to large and small audiences representing a variety of demographics.
  • Must be able to function in an environment of moderate noise

Working Conditions:

  • Incumbent will work both in the field and in an office environment. Working in the field shall require the incumbent to function in an environment consistent with field work including traffic, meetings, community gatherings, street fairs, festivals, etc. as well as multiple public buildings throughout and beyond NOPEC's Ohio footprint. Resultantly, the incumbent should expect to occasionally deal with weather conditions consistent with the normal range of weather within Ohio including heat, cold, humidity, rain, etc.
  • Incumbent will be one member of a small but efficient team of professionals delivering best in-class services to a range of governmental members and their community residents and small businesses. As such every team member is expected to be a self-starter and high level performer and must be willing to jump in on a moment's notice to help any or all other team members deliver services to our customer
