In this role, you will be part of the BHAG Realization Lab - BHAG stands for Big Hairy Audacious Goal. You will be working hands-on to emulate complex robotic solutions for seamless transferability into their real world counterparts. You will be designing these solutions for practical challenges from industrial/vertical use cases in a cross-disciplinary and collaborative way. The emulations will be e2e, i.e. all our solutions will be designed to operate on the most advanced communication networks! Candidates with skills in robotics hardware, software, or both are invited to apply.

Key Responsibilities / Functions

* Design and build virtual robot systems to operate in desired virtual environments


* Integrate required virtual robot sensors, actuators, controllers, and other components into the solution


* Design and implement perception, planning, and control algorithms


* Test and Validate the solution against performance benchmarks


* Collaborate with team members to create innovative ideas and rapidly develop proofs-of-concept and prototype solutions



Qualifications:

Candidates should possess a subset of the following skills:

* Strong knowledge of CAD tools such as Solidworks, SketchUp, Blender, Autodesk


* Previous experience with Robotic Simulation Platforms and Physics Engines


*
* Strong knowledge of ROS


* Previous experience with OpenCV, TensorFlow, ORB SLAM


* Strong software development skills in Python, C#/C++



In addition, the following skills are required:

* Strong team player with ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team


* Excellent interpersonal skills and written/verbal communication skills



Student Criteria:

Overall GPA of 3.0/4.0 or above.

Must be enrolled as a full-time student pursuing a Masters/Ph,D

Work Authorization: U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident preferred. Will accept students on F-1 Visa dependent upon program requirements or may consider sponsoring short-term J1 Visa PhD students dependent upon program requirements.

Education Requested: Must be pursuing a degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Engineering Mechanics, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mathematics, Operations Research, Physics, Statistics, Systems Engineering and Telecommunications from an accredited college/university.
