Job Description

This position reports directly to the Production Engineering Manager. A Production Test Engineer is accountable for the following:

* Create software for internal company use that supports automation and efficiency
* Writes programs in C#, Visual Basic and other languages as required
* Designs, implements, and tests software applications for in-house use on the PC platform
* Understands the PC operating system including device drivers
* Writes software that includes graphics and tabular display of data
* Writes communication software that uses RS-232 serial, RS-485, Inductive modem technology, Ethernet, TCP-IP, and USB hardware and protocols
* Software design, requirements gathering, and specification
* Interfaces with various departments/individuals to determine software requirements
* Design software applications to improve efficiency on the production floor
* Responsible for creating automated test fixtures
* Circuit design
* Software design
* PCB design
* Create detailed production documentation
* Develop processes for production
* Perform additional tasks as assigned

Education, Background and Skill Requirements:

* Bachelors of Science or Associate Degree in Electrical Engineering, or Electrical Technology
* New college graduates encouraged to apply
* Two plus (2 ) years work experience designing mixed signal data acquisition circuits
* Switching supplies
* digital and analog signal processing
* Programming: Visual Basic, VB.NET, C, C , HTML, XML, ASP, Access, SQL, VBScript
* Two plus (2 ) years work experience using PADS and Orcad a plus
* Excellent oral and written communication skills
* Working knowledge of Word, Excel, and Solidworks
* Data and fact-based problem solving skills
* Strong project and time management skills
* Solid data analysis and reporting skills
* Lean manufacturing experience

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

* Ability to see and hear well (either naturally or with correction) and speak clearly
* Coordinate the movement of your eyes, hands or fingers
* Physical requirements included: bending, sitting, squatting, walking, lift items overhead, and standing
* Frequent computer screen, keyboard, and mouse use
* Lift up to thirty (30) pounds periodically during your shift
