Nike Finance employees play a key role in that progress by identifying and capitalizing on opportunities to drive value for every Nike shareholder. They manage accounting and reporting for Nike's multi-billion-dollar global investment portfolio, debt and equity instruments, and other Treasury activities. Controlling:

As an undergraduate Controlling Intern, you will support the Controlling team to drive and deliver sustainable risk optimized enabling capabilities through influential financial expertise. You'll be responsible for preparing timely and insightful accounting analysis of pertinent information, to support the close and reporting processes performed by Controlling.

While spending the summer in an Undergraduate Internship with Nike Finance your responsibilities may include:

* Participating in an assigned Nike Finance business project which requires research, analysis, benchmarking, and presentation to leadership with future focused next step recommendations.


* Support various Controlling teams during the monthly close and reporting process, including account reconciliations, journal entries, and various levels of reporting.


* Help to support the processes and controls included within Nike's internal controls over financial reporting ("ICFR") program.


* Review quarterly financial statement information and participate in the procedures necessary to complete the filing of Nike's financial statements with the SEC.


* Analyze current business or finance processes, and identify areas of potential process improvement, leveraging data and technology.



Tax:

Nike's Tax Technology Team is imbedded in and enables Nike Global Tax to assess, select and implement technology through a best practice governance process that balances Nike's operational strategy, risk, and technical expertise. We manage software implementations, process changes, identify opportunities for improvements through data transformation and assist in task simplification and automation. We also act as the liaison between Nike Global Tax business units and Nike Tech, working cross functionally with all areas of Nike Finance and Nike Governance.

We are looking for a candidate who is ready to drive innovation and real change across Nike Tax. We need someone who wants to get inside the mechanics and processes of Nike Tax and help us find efficient and sustainable solutions. The ideal candidate will have the ability to look outside of the status quo and meld their knowledge of data science and tax and finance.

This internship will expose you to how Nike Global Tax utilizes financial and management data to meet compliance requirements, create complex models and drive decisions. You will be directly involved in scoping and documenting tax projects for automation, building data transformation workflows using Alteryx and building reports and dashboards utilizing Power BI and/or Tableau to increase innovation in Nike Global Tax.

Qualifications

* Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in areas such as tax, accounting, or a related field with an expected graduation date of Winter 2020 or Spring 2021
* Intermediate level proficiency using Microsoft Office Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
* Knowledge and/or experience of business intelligence tools (Power BI, Tableau, Alteryx) a plus and preferred
* Strong knowledge of financial and accounting principles
* Excellent communication skills and experience with influencing
* Ability to successfully navigate ambiguity, especially while working with a team
* Comfort with taking on new challenges by ensuring that the objective is understood, matched with an ability to diligently and creatively work towards achieving it
