Accounting Intern

Job Description

The Accounting Intern position is an exciting opportunity for anyone interested in pursuing an Accounting career. The Intern will gain hands-on experience with all four of NGL's business segments and collaborate with all levels of management. The Intern will also have the opportunity to be mentored by current NGL employees, attend corporate events, and tour one of NGL's operational terminals.

General Duties and Responsibilities

* Attend management's financial overview meetings.
* Assist with month-end financial reports and internal financial reporting package.
* Participate in variance analysis and analytical reporting for management.
* Acquire an understanding of how NGL's financial statements are consolidated.
* Post monthly journal entries.
* Develop familiarity with ERP systems by assisting with accounts receivable and accounts payable processes.
* Reconcile balance sheet accounts.
* Assist with data entry and filing of accounting documents.
* Other duties as assigned.
* Regular attendance at the job site is required.

Position Qualifications: Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

* Excellent analytical and problem solving abilities.
* Ability to work well in a team environment that promotes inclusiveness and communication among team members.
* Basic understanding of financial and accounting principles.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is required, intermediate knowledge of Excel is strongly preferred.
* Demonstrated initiative and self-motivation, along with excellent organization skills.
* Demonstrated ability to recognize, establish, and organize priorities.
* Must be dependable with a stable work history.
* Excellent customer service, interpersonal, and communication skills.
* Ability to maintain stability under pressure and be flexible and willing to modify plans and behavior when necessary.
* Ability to be a positive representative of the Company both internally and externally.
* Ability to work with respect and cooperation at all times with fellow employees and customers.
* Must be committed to working safely at all times.

Experience/Education:

* Junior or Senior currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
* Prefer candidates who have at least a 3.25 GPA (out of 4.0).
* Background or interest in business, accounting, and/or the oil and gas industry is required.

Travel: Negligible travel required.
