Essential Duties

  • Assist other engineer technicians in surveying and sampling.
  • Follow established survey/sample procedures.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the locations of active pits, dumps, and stockpiles.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of radio communications procedures.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of blasting and blocking procedures and good communication with the powder crew.
  • Ability to restock survey supplies.
  • Develop basic map reading skills including blast hole and ore control maps.
  • Develop understanding of the LIMS, Drill Manager, and AutoCad systems.
  • Understand Sampler SOP and ability to check sample status.
  • Demonstrate safety leadership and safety-consciousness. Understand visibility and safety issues with haul trucks, including participating in a ride-along for first-hand knowledge.
  • Provide effective customer service.
  • Demonstrate teamwork and cooperation through honest and open communication.
  • Comply with state and federal health and safety regulations, company policies and procedures, and the company’s environmental polices.
  • Demonstrate basic PC knowledge (email, Word, Excel, and directory structure.)
  • Perform light vehicle inspections. Maintain vehicles, office and storage areas.
