Job Description

 

Newmont Boddington Gold is the largest gold mine in Australia and is taking full advantage of innovative, state-of-the-art technology and processing methods. This multi-billion dollar mine will provide the opportunity to advance your career in a clean and safe mining environment.

Our mining operation provides you with the opportunity to live locally and go home every day or stay in our village for your roster and Drive In Drive Out (DIDO).  We are only 130kms from the Perth CBD and approximately 100kms from the coast.  You will work a 8 days on 6 days off roster so there will be plenty of time to enjoy the lifestyle this area can offer you.

Purpose

We are seeking an experienced Process Maintenance Supervisor to provide task assignment and people development.  You will report to the Process Maintenance Superintendent – Dry Plant and be the single point of contact for crew members. 
 

Essential Duties

  • Supervise maintenance crew within the fines plant area
  • Build a skilled and efficient maintenance team
  • Ensure equipment repairs / rebuilds are completed to a high degree of quality
  • Supervise overhauling of rotable equipment such as HPGR spare choke chute, pre-feed hopper, conveyor transfer chute inserts, secondary feed chute, dance floor, bin discharge chute etc.
  • Supervise other key component overhauls such as ducting repairs, dust collection systems etc.
  • Supervise contractors as required
  • Provide additional support during major breakdown events
     

Training & Experience

  • A mechanical Trade Qualification is required along with at least 10 years post trade experience
  • At least 5 years’ experience in a maintenance supervisory position
  • Maintenance experience in a complex processing or heavy industrial plant
  • Sound understanding of maintenance work management processes and experience with managing maintenance work utilizing a CMMS system
  • Experience with developing employees and managing interpersonal relationships
  • Certificate of Frontline Management or equivalent
  • This person must be motivated, dynamic, organized, disciplined, and responsible
  • The ability to handle multiple complex tasks simultaneously and work under pressure is essential
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential
