Job Description

Position Summary

Arts and Science is seeking a talented Grant and Research Administrator to join the Department of Chemistry. This individual will provide administrative oversight to a large research lab, including budget administration, project development, and general office management. Support faculty in the development and submission of mega-grants specifically in the area of Chemical Biology. Identify new opportunities for research support; write and edit diverse scientific grant proposals, including persuasive, detailed funding proposals for submission to foundations, corporations, and certain individual prospects.

This is a full-time two year fixed-term position.

Qualifications

Required Education:Bachelor's degreePreferred Education:Bachelor's degree with a focus in chemistry.Required Experience:Minimum of 3 years experience.Preferred Experience:Experience in an academic or research environment.Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:Demonstrated success in writing funded proposals and in identifying and researching funding opportunities. Excellent writing, analytical, problem-solving skills, communication and organizational skills. Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication, and organizational skills. Familiarity with word processing, spreadsheet, and database software, PC and MAC computers. Ability to work with a broad spectrum of individuals (students, faculty, staff, international). Working knowledge of accounting fundamentals. Knowledge of standard office software.
