Business Operations Intern (Summer 2020)

As an Intern in New Relic's Portland office, you will join our Business Operations team for a full-time, paid internship opportunity beginning approximately May/June 2020.

What You'll Do

New Relic Operating Model - Governance Program

* Define success metrics for Business Operations FY20 Governance Program and implement measurement mechanisms
* Prioritize and define decision-making rights for critical strategic decisions for leadership buy-in
* Partner with leadership teams to define expected behaviors necessary to drive these decisions in this framework
* Create communication plan, enablement plan, and audience specific scenario based training sessions in regards to decision framework, identified decision rights, and behaviors
* Partner with Sr. Business Operations Manager to define and communicate cascading decision paths and rights along critical cross-org workstreams (e.g. launching new product to market, responding to customer escalation, etc)
* Support Director to manage critical cross-org leadership forums and associated communications

Your Qualifications


* You are currently enrolled in a Bachelor's program from an accredited university
* You have completed at least two years of an undergraduate program
* You are returning to your program after the internship
* Communication: express oneself clearly in conversations and interactions with others, verbally and written, and ensure that information is passed on to others who should be kept informed. Ability to tailor messages appropriately for a given audience.
* Results Orientation: focus on the desired result of the work, setting challenging goals, focusing effort on the goals, and meeting or exceeding them.
* Building Collaborative Relationships: develop, maintain, and strengthen partnerships with others who can provide information, assistance, and support.
* Customer Orientation: demonstrate concern for satisfying one's external and/or internal customers.
* Diagnostic Information Gathering: identify the information needed to clarify a situation, seek that information from appropriate sources, and use skillful questioning to draw out the information, when others are reluctant to disclose it.
* Analytical Thinking: tackle a problem by using a logical, systematic, sequential approach.
* Initiative: identify what needs to be done and doing it before being asked or before the situation requires it.
* Thoroughness: ensure that one's own and others' work and information are complete and accurate; carefully preparing for meetings and presentations; following up with others to ensure that agreements and commitments have been fulfilled.
* Self-Management: confident in self and own ideas, able to keep functioning under pressure, follows through on commitments and takes responsibility for own mistakes.
