Job Description

Quality Technician

Job Description Overview:

The Quality Control Technician performs final release inspections on extruded products to ensure that product requirements are fulfilled. The data from inspections will be recorded and maintained electronically in a manner that conforms to our ISO standard. This technician will also play an essential role in supporting the ISO compliant quality management system.

Responsibilities include:

· Perform dimensional inspections using microscope and calipers.

· Perform tensile strength and elongation inspections using tensile tester.

· Perform obstruction testing of blown-fiber optic tube bundles.

· Manage sample retains inventory- including collection, storage and disposal.

· Calibrating extrusion equipment and hand tools, and properly maintaining calibration records.

· Perform 2-3 internal audits each year, to be assigned by quality supervisor.

· Document custodian- responsible for creating and updating CCG documents.

· Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Knowledge and Skills Required:

· Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Powerpoint.

· Excellent communication skills.

· Proactive.

· Able to change priorities quickly in response to customer demands.

· Able to make decisions.

· Understanding of Lean concepts.

Qualifications:  Associate in Science/Bachelor of Science in Engineering or Business Administration preferred.
