NeoGenomics is looking for a Part-Time Licensed Clinical Laboratory Scientist II who wants to continue to learn in order to allow our company to grow.

The shift for this position is Saturday & Sunday, 9:30 AM - 6:00 PM

Position Summary:

As a Part-Time Clinical Lab Scientist II, you will be responsible for pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical processes associated with specimen processing, test performance and data analysis in the Flow Cytometry Laboratory. Perform routine, moderate and high complexity testing and independently prioritize multiple tasks with minimal supervision.

The shift for this position will be for Friday and Saturday.

Essential Duties

* Competent in handling various tasks performed in the wet lab and efficient prioritization of tasks and projects
* Follow the laboratory's established procedures for specimen labeling, handling, preservation, preparation, processing, and transportation, storage, and data analysis
* Follow the laboratory's established policies and procedures whenever test systems are not within the laboratory's established acceptable levels of performance
* Assure that all remedial actions are taken whenever test systems deviate from the laboratory's established performance specifications and corrective actions are documented
* Ensure that patient test results are not reported until all corrective actions have been taken and the test system is properly functioning
* Assist in creation or modification of Work Instructions
* Perform quality control, preventative maintenance, function check, and troubleshooting of instruments


Bachelor's degree in a chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory science or medical technology from an accredited institution is preferred.


* Level I: 1+ years of equivalent experience (high complexity testing) preferred
* Level II: 4+ years of equivalent experience (high complexity testing) preferred

Qualification Requirements:

* Nationally: ASCP certification - Medical Technology and in California, a California Clinical Laboratory Scientist License (CLS) or eligibility to obtain this license is required.
* Current state license to perform laboratory testing = Medical Laboratory Professional-AAB and AMT National Certifications are acceptable
* Knowledge of laboratory techniques
* Possesses appropriate computer skills to accomplish tasks
* Ability to communicate effectively
* Good social skills and attention to detail
* Motivated to work independently and within a team environment
* Willing to work in a biohazard environment and follow safety policies and standards outlined in the Safety Manual
* Good visual acuity including color perception required for certain departments
* Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
