Job Description

Summary: Under the supervision of the Accounting Manager, the Accounting Assistant is responsible for general accounting and clerical functions and providing any necessary support regarding banking and credit card processing to all Neighborhood Healthcare sites. This includes providing clerical support for the Chief Financial Officer, Controller, Accounting Manager and Accounting Department.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

* Complete on-site cash audits and PSR Audits for all NHcare sites.
* Reconcile deposits and credit card transactions.
* Process credit card transactions for local sites.
* Prepare and maintain cash banks for local sites.
* Prepare daily deposits for bank courier to pick up.
* Prepare deposits from the previous day's mail/receivables, making copies of checks and backup for accounting and billing.
* Prepares Cash Reconciliation Exception Reports for daily cash receipts.
* Assist with Accounts Payable tasks such as entering invoices, account reconciliations and various reports.
* Process incoming/outgoing & interoffice mail from accounting.
* Clerical support (i.e. typing, faxing, photocopying, and mailings).
* Answer telephone calls.
* Other duties as assigned.

Experience and Skills:

Qualifications:

Skills: Must be accurate, detail oriented, and capable of multi-tasking. Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail. Advanced knowledge of computer applications: Excel, Outlook and Word are required.

Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.

Experience: Minimum two years of accounting and general clerical experience. Patient Service Representative or Medical Front Office experience preferred. Experience with Cash Handling required.
