Job Description

Nebraska Medicine is now taking applications for a talented individual to join us as a Pharmacy Intern in Omaha, NE. #This role will be working in the Durham Outpatient Center Pharmacy on the Nebraska Medicine campus. The Pharmacy Intern role will be Part Time/Casual working week day evening shifts and weekends on both days/evening shifts. #Shifts are four hours on weekdays and eight hours on weekends. To be considered for this role, one must be currently enrolled in a ACPE Doctor of Pharmacy Program and either a licensed Nebraska Pharmacy Intern OR Registered as a Pharmacy Technician. The Pharmacy Intern will gain experience in different areas within the Outpatient Pharmacy, including order entry, product dispensing and medication counseling. The ideal candidate for this specific opening will be a student#who will be beginning their Doctor of Pharmacy program in the fall of 2020 (incoming P1s)# However, all interested applicants are encouraged to apply.# We partner with our physicians, nurses and other hospital staff to provide the best Serious Medicine and Extraordinary Care available in the region.# We are excited to have Forbes Magazine recognize us in their list of American#s top employers and the best employer in Nebraska. Under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist, the incumbent shall prepare, dispense and distribute medication and provide clinical monitoring and drug information in a manner, which ensures optimal patient care. Required Qualifications: High school education or equivalent required. Currently accepted to an Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) accredited Doctor of Pharmacy program required. Ability to communicate effectively with hospital staff and patients. Employee must demonstrate basic computer skills and use of typical office equipment. Licensed Nebraska pharmacy intern or registered as a pharmacy technician with the State of Nebraska Board of Pharmacy required. Preferred Qualifications: Previous pharmacy experience preferred. Basic Life Support certification preferred.
