NSA Overview

The professionals at the National Security Agency (NSA) have one common goal: to protect our nation.  The mission requires a strong offense and a steadfast defense.  The offense collects, processes and disseminates intelligence information derived from foreign signals for intelligence and counterintelligence purposes.  The defense prevents adversaries from gaining access to sensitive classified national security information. HR Generalist provides vital support to the overall mission and employees of the NSA by providing front-line HR services.

Description of Position:

HR Generalist: As a HR Generalist, you will be part of a team that provides front-line HR services by interpreting and applying HR policies and other support-related policies, and regulations. Responsibilities of a HR Generalist include, but are not limited to:

- Advising on a full spectrum of HR topics
- Implement HR policies and programs
- Provide guidance and counsel to employees and managers
- Engage in outreach to customer organizations
- Assist with briefing the different HR programs offered to the workforce
- Recruit, hire, and on-board new employees

Salary Range:  $42,462 - $67,523 (Entry/Developmental)

Entry is with a Bachelor's degree and no experience. A high school diploma or GED plus 4 years of relevant experience, or an Associate's degree plus 2 years of relevant experience may be considered for individuals with in-depth experience that is clearly related to the position.

Degree must be in Human Resources (HR), Business Administration, Business Management, or an HR-related field (e.g. Personnel Counseling Services, Organizational Behavior, Organizational Development, I-O Psychology, Industrial Relations, Business Administration, or Human Resources Management). At the bachelor's level, may also be in a related field (e.g., psychology, sociology, and counseling).

Relevant experience must be performing HR activities (e.g., human capital, health/benefits, retirement, and recruitment) and customer service.

Salary Range:  $62,841 - $97,918 (Full Performance)

Entry is with a Bachelor's degree plus 3 years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree plus 1 year of relevant experience or a Doctoral degree and no experience. A high school diploma or GED plus 7 years of relevant experience, or an Associate's degree plus 5 years of relevant experience may be considered for individuals with in-depth experience that is clearly related to the position.

Degree must be in Human Resources (HR), Business Administration, Business Management, or an HR-related field (e.g. Personnel Counseling Services, Organizational Behavior, Organizational Development, I-O Psychology, Industrial Relations, Business Administration, or Human Resources Management). At the bachelor's level, may also be in a related field (e.g., psychology, sociology, and counseling).

Relevant experience must be performing HR activities (e.g., human capital, health/benefits, retirement, and recruitment) and customer service. Counseling or consulting experience is preferred.

Salary Range:  $89,566 - $116,437 (Senior)

Entry is with a Bachelor's degree plus 6 years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree plus 4 years of relevant experience, or a Doctoral degree plus 2 years of relevant experience. A high school diploma or GED plus 10 years of relevant experience, or an Associate's degree plus 8 years of relevant experience may be considered for individuals with in-depth experience that is clearly related to the position.

Degree must be in Human Resources (HR), Business Administration, Business Management, or an HR-related field (e.g. Personnel Counseling Services, Organizational Behavior, Organizational Development, I-O Psychology, Industrial Relations, Business Administration, or Human Resources Management). At the bachelor's level, may also be in a related field (e.g., psychology, sociology, counseling).

Relevant experience must be performing HR activities (e.g., human capital, health/benefits, retirement, and recruitment), providing customer service, and providing HR-related counseling/consultation. Mentoring others in HR processes, briefing or public speaking, and formal or informal leadership is preferred.
